4 of the 6 are in Red States but I assume run by Democrats.
St. Louis (and I think Baltimore) are skewed by a city-county divide. Most cities have joined with their surrounding cities when tabulating crime. St. Louis refuses to.
As a metro are St. Louis is in the 40's, I believe.

I believe Chicago IS the murder capital when considering raw numbers. That list considers per capita rate, so cities that are considerably smaller than Chicago jump ahead on that list.
In other words, if your goal was to make the biggest impact in reducing murders, you’d start in Chicago.
