This is a bald faced lie.
The reason I know is because I receive food stamps. I am disabled. There has been no word or warning from DCFS about losing them. Nothing from local, state or feds. I got January's no problem & have not gotten any word about February.
If food stamps were being cancelled, we would have gotten letters, texts, etc telling us by now. I've received nothing.
It's another lie.
Oh downvote me all you want for being disabled & needing food stamps to help...or call me a poor so you can feel superior...well I guess you're just displaying your ignorance.
Just wanted to shed some light on the situation...or just meet me at sonic....

Born with clubbed feet. Seven total surgeries since childhood to reconstruct. Arthritis caused one ankle to need to be fused, and tri-level cervical disc replacement two years ago. And now lumbar bulging disc.
Basically doctors did wonders to enable me to walk & have somewhat normal life. Was working full time until 2009. I hate no being able to support myself, always been very independent woman.
Age, arthritis wear & tear is doing its dirty work but I won't let it take me out.
Many many others are far worse off, I do ok. But the pain is excruciating at times.
Do not take your health for granted nor assume you will always be healthy.

certainly not all, but most i see in line using EBT cards are buying expensive foods regular people cant afford to buy unless its for an occasion

And if I can't laugh about it all sometimes, i'd never make it!
But it does piss me off watching people abuse the system. And the abuse is rampant. And unchecked.
One reason my allotment is so low is I',ve never lied about number of dependents to get more money. Have one adult son. And I told them my car is paid for.
Evidently, not claiming 7 children I,ve never met & paying off my car makes me "rich" ,to the SNAP program...my car is a 06 Taurus so nothing fancy.
It's so fricked up, one is penalized for being honest about their needs. The liars get money.
