As if I needed another reason to hate that "charity".

Out of those eligible, 110 families will be selected to receive $660 a month for a year.
This.is.not.universal.basic.income.
It’s another welfare program.

If they forgo all other forms of government assistance I guess I’m ok with giving that to poor families (not individuals). That’s if if if and only if it takes the place of all other forms of gov assistance.

Another government give away program, you can pretty well bet the families that get it will be families that already live off other government give away programs.
It would be interesting to know if the UBI program is tied somehow to Michael Bloomberg and the folks that supported him for President. Bloomberg endorsed the Shreveport mayor when he ran against worthless Bill Cassidy, this is probably one of their leftist programs and they are probably funding it, not the City of Shreveport.

UBI works.
No it doesn't, and if you had the education and honesty to read the study itself and its critiques you'd know that.

FWIW no taxpayer dollars fund this. All private money. Not that I support it.

What city can Rs move to and take over. Let’s do than and then compare to all these democratic run shot holes in 20 years.

Your article cites Finland as the example.
Wonder if you can figure what Finland has very few of that Shreveport and other cities have a lot of?
UBI doesn’t work when you have a lot of what Finland doesn’t have.

It’s about time to leave this country and start over. I’m not sure where is a good place to start over.

Yes this is idiotic and would bankrupt the city under normal circumstances once it expands the UBI to all (though I thought they were already bankrupt).
But these aren't normal circumstances. As long as it is a democrat run city then biden will just print more funny money and give them billions.
Monopoly money for all!
Well except for you white baws. To hell with you!

About the only places that haven’t lost their minds are eastern European countries, such as Romania.

If you vote, and sadly I’m guessing you do, please read “Economics In One Lesson”. It’s not long, it’s not dry, it’s probably written at an 8th grade level and it’s quite interesting. If that’s a stretch, look up hidden costs.
