Dude just looks tired and bored to me. Doesn't look like a protest.

That's refreshing as it tells me home training is still a thing in this country.

That or those with no home training don't make it to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier very often.

Either way, it's good news.

I would assume most who pay a visit there are from certain backgrounds and mentalities. Three of my visits were as part of official parties (all wreath layings). But three were just showing friends around. The most casual behavior you tend to see is tourists asking servicemembers to take photos with them. We usually oblige.

DGAF.

Show some GODDAMN RESPECT.

Stop reinforcing damn near every fricking negative stereotype out there.

I can't believe that anyone would defend this sort of behavior. SMH. Perhaps we are truly lost.

They're playing with fire here. Those dudes at that post - you're only seeing the guys "on stage" - there is backup very near by and they will frick your boy up if he crosses the line.

You know as well as I do the first person to be corrected will be hailed as a hero by the MSM who will gleefully call the guard a racist.

After all, if you are white and salute the flag now, you are racist.

This is where this is all going.

I've never seen the soldiers who do stand guard actively engage with the crowd.

When I went MANY moons ago for a class trip, someone at our school acted up and the Guard stopped and called them out. Needless to say the rest of that trip for that kid was miserable. The Chaperons saw to it.

Yep, when it happens the Guard will be the a-hole and the protester will be the hero.

Yeah ... ain't gonna lie ... this pisses me off. I have shrugged off pretty much everything else.

It's their intent to piss you off. If what they are currently doing doesn't accomplish that, they will keep pushing until it does.

Probably some kid on a field trip who thinks he's being cool.

Hope he understands what a foolish move he made.

Would depend on what company they were in. Everything in TOG revolves around companies because of how missions (e.g. parades, funeral details, etc) are executed.

ETA: B, C, and D companies (at that time) were referred to as "blues companies" and were focused primarily on funeral honors and parades (among other duties). E Company was (at that time) the "Honor Guard" company and had three platoons (like the other companies) and also the Drill Team, the Continental Color Guard, and the Tomb Guards. H Company had the Presidential Firing Battery (our mortar platoon) and the Caisson Platoon. A Company (referred to as the wig wearers) was the Commander in Chief's Life Guard (wore Revolutionary War uniforms for parades). This was all in one battalion (reinforced). There are now two battalions (1st and 4th).
