nothing like a sponsored raising canes kids lunch Does this exist? Because I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

I remember in high school when we went from a traditional school cafeteria to some outsourced service called Valley Foods that just sold nothing but junk. Burgers, hot dogs, huge cookies, chips, nachos and cheese, fried everything. It was incredibly expensive and was basically what you get at a concessions stand at the football game. And it was lowest quality meat and bulk crap from Sysco. Nothing but sodium and saturated fats

square pizza

That square pizza with the smoked sausage slices were fiya.

I was in elementary school in BR in the late seventies. Those lunches were good. The rolls were better than anything my mom baked at home. Hell, they served up Shrimp Creole on the regular.

When I had kids of my own and went to eat lunch with them at school on occasion I was shocked at how shitty the prepackaged shite was they were serving.

And I don't think I need to make an argument for American Exceptionalism. I think it's so obvious that you need to make the argument against it.

How sad. So hard to find an intelligent conversation these days.

I don't doubt that that is true of you. Since it takes two to have an intelligent conversation.

Sugar muffin, you've self-owned here in more ways than you understand.

I'm embarrassed for you, and I'm not easily embarrassed.

Try self-made ("non-exceptional at killing") millionaires per country in a google search. To reinforce that, look up the richest self-made GenX person on the planet. Then look up the richest self-made GenY person on the planet.

Ive never understood why Progressives draw back pathologically when "American exceptionalism" is mentioned.

I wonder what two parent household rates look like in Japan.

Probably inverse of their percentage of Basketball Americans in their population.

Sounds like an education ad by lib progs for why the US should copy what the Finnish schools do to get great test scores.

Japan and the US are holistically different on just about every level. Kids aren't fat because they eat bad food. Kids wouldn't eat the food that is placed in front of them if it's "healthy" or "not unhealthy". Parents are why kids eat a decent diet.

My High School had coke and snack machines.. a Pizza Hut.. a Taco Bell.. a chick-fil-a, a subway and then the cafeteria food and nobody in my class has became over obese, retarded or turned trans gay so there’s that.

It was like add vegetables and offer fat free milk.

That’s all you had to do to get free money.

Who’s drawing back? I’m not. I’m also very conservative. But I’m also a realist. Yeah we live in the best damn country in the world but there are better examples of many aspects of our culture.

I've never taken it to mean people or culture, just the system we had (past tense), which allowed so many people the opportunity to succeed individually in the most diverse nation in the world.

That’s all you’ve got, money?

How about culture.

How about murder.

What do we offer to the rest of the world besides McDonald’s and Playboy?

You can feed American kids quinoa, roasted fish, grilled chicken and salad every day of the week, but if they're eating all the shite that we call food for the other 2 meals every day because grocery prices are so astromical, and Happy Meals are $6, then no kid is going to lose a pound or be in any type of optimal health.

Go shop for fresh grapes, fresh meats, fresh vegetable and fresh juice and 5 items will be $90. Until that is different, we are all fricked.

What if we feed them breakfast and lunch? For all I care, send them home with a meal in the evenings as well

I don't get the pure defeatist attitude
