Should Trump drop Pence in 2020?

Nothing against Pence- he seems likeable enough and a solid conservative- but Trump could do better. In 2016 he needed a midwestern traditional conservative to shore up the religious, mainline Republican vote. He clearly has that locked up now. Trump was the brash, boisterous candidate; Pence is the quiet, calm guy with family values.
With a few exceptions, the entire purpose of the VP pick is to attract voters and level out the ticket. They don't really do much in the way of actual policy making and governance. I think Pence has served Trump well but now it's time to move on to someone else- preferably someone from a battleground state that can energize the base. Who would best help Trump get reelected?

I say yes, he should bring John James on as his VP pick

Like Reagan, the GOPe picked Trump's VP. The imbeciles should have picked a woman.

Only reason to dump a VP is if they bring the ticket down
Upside - None
Downside - Unpredictable
Pence is as straight laced as you get. He’s been vetted and helped you win in 2016. Also, he’s been loyal to Trump. I mean, unbelievably loyal to the President. You throw Pence away without a good reason then it reeks of disloyalty and desperation. Two more gifts to the Dems plus you have to vet another candidate? The risk is unpredictable. I don’t even like Pence but it would be a foolish error to dump the man going in re-election.
