How many bridges did you have to cross to get from women's studies to Herodotus and Aristotle?

Herodotus spends much of the Histories discussing women, he starts the whole book talking about how the war between Greeks and Asians starts with stealing women, and that the Greeks took the whole thing too seriously.

And Aristotle gives comment on women in Politics, Rhetoric and Biology and probably a few other of his books. For example Aristotle found that only fair skinned women climaxed

Have any of you ever met a liberal arts professor that is a rational middle of the road, free thinking kind of person? I’m curious, because even at LaTech there weren’t any? They have one agenda and a large platform. Unfortunate but it’s true

I had a legit Latin professor for two semesters. I don’t think many of the general programs are preparing people for a career and are only a check box. At this point in society where a general degree’s worth has been so diluted I think people should focus on degrees that are more directly tied to a profession.

He said that liberal arts degrees shouldn’t be offered. History and philosophy are liberal arts.

If LSU would just get rid of Robert Mann I’d start donating again.

Aw man, i was with you until the second part.. Didn’t you notice that the OP is, presumably, NOT a member of the ‘left’? Yet he is, seemingly, trying to limit certain ideas, thoughts, departments, degrees, etc... Doesnt quite fit your narrative, does it?

No, what I should’ve said was that it was hypocritical for the OP (who is presumably of the right) to try to limit the free thought flow when I could probably guess how he feels about it when the left does it.

What does the OT think of cutting research funding to departments in the humanities and social sciences? Most of classes cater right now to social justice themes.(LGBTQ, black lives matter, trans rights are human rights).

Yes. And start burning all of their books while you are at it, Adolph
