Should discrimination be legally actionable?

One right thing that SCOTUS has done is to remove the burden of pre-clearance on the Southern states by dismantling a lot of the enforcement mechanisms of the VRA of 1965.
One of the significant setbacks to American prosperity and individualism is the ability of certain groups to claim membership in a "protected class".
I believe that if we were to remove that barrier to growth and expansion, the U.S. truly would flourish.
Two other things should control: Individual (and business) rights of free association and economic necessity. In other words, you should be able to discriminate as you will about who you spend time and do business with. However, economic issues will tear down a lot of those personal barriers as it would be in your best interest to hire and do business with people you otherwise would not.

I’m all for discrimination in stores and neighborhoods.
Also voting discrimination. I’m all about paying your fair share and what you put in, you should get out regardless of color. No more freeloaders or malcontents who frick up a good time for everyone else. A perpetual offender shouldn’t have the same voting rights as a property owner or business owner or a mere employee for that matter. Your contributions should be judged.

The only way to stop discrimination based on race is to stop discriminating based on race.

Im ok with them when based in an action the person took (ie disabled vets) but being protected based on race or sexual preference or gender is hypocritical. It requires discrimination against those not in the protected class and is therefore racist/sexists/whatever-ist in itself. They shouldn't exist.

Not sure how that would look but I am entirely in favor of education requirements to vote. The Founding Fathers did not account for the size of the voting population we have today. I don't care what someone's race, class, or gender is as long as they have passed some level of education to prove they know what they are doing. We have high school dropouts, meth heads, gang bangers, and possibly dead people voting. You should have to do a test to vote and show you are mentally competent

As the owner of multiple businesses, the introduction of protected classes is a major hindrance. Those that are within these classes know it and they look for ways to use it to their advantage.
Anytime a regulating body introduces rules it is human nature for people to use those rules to their advantage, which often goes against the spirit of putting the rules into place in the first place.
Protected classes actually introduce a form of discrimination imo.
