Absolutely insane to me that average citizens were still able to book rooms at the hotel where almost our entire line of succession would be present at one time. And on top of that, apparently they didn't have any sort of heightened security checking in/background checking those guests.
This could've been much worse. This guy was able to get a few guns on the premises and within a hundred or so yards of the president and VP, but what about a dirty bomb hidden up in a room? A suicide bomber throwing a tuxedo on in his room and using plausible deniability to get up close to SS and then taking off running like this guy did?
With the lack of security revealed throughout this, it's mind boggling that something so much worse could've very easily been planned and executed

Peter Doocy said there is talks that Trump may need to start wearing a bullet proof vest while attending events.
I thought for sure he was already wearing one

Even a vest full of grenades, could have gotten him a front row seat.

Some of you talking about the Secret Service like they can just come in and close down a private business. They can’t. They can ask but are usually told no. Now, sure, a lot of local businesses that gov officials visit will close down but in major cities all the security can do is make a workable plan with the hosting site. A hotel is even trickier because police can’t just up and search customer rooms.
And the event itself doesn’t want their attendees having to stand in long security lines a half mile away especially when it’s super hot or like last night cold and rainy while they are wearing tuxedos and dresses.
The bottom line it appears the security plan worked as the guy was caught at the point the public tried to enter the event. That he got into the hotel is a non issue because the general public is allowed into hotels.

It worked?
The gunman sprinted right through. Watch the video, they were shocked, NO ONE WAS WATCHING THE ENTRANCE.
The goof in the stupid looking black hat had difficulty even pulling his pistol after he was so surprised he almost fell down.
This was ONE GUNMAN. Extracting Trump was a fiasco, JD was taken out before he was.
What happens when a team of 10+ gunmen do this? Maybe with some wearing suicide vests?
This is the third issue with shooters and Trump, and all three instances have been handled horribly.

Apparently it did. The ballroom is on another floor. He never got to that floor.

Yes, it worked. The guy was running thru a public area into the secured area where he was stopped. The cops in a free country can’t stop people from being in public areas.
If you think he is successful you must also think the guy who tried to enter the Super Bowl without a ticket and was stopped at Gate 4 was also successful.
There is always an area where public meets secured or private. That is where this guy was stopped. Go to the White House and you’ll be able to walk right up to the gate but when you try to walk thru you’ll be stopped like this guy was. So if a guy runs full speed with a gun up to the White House he probably won’t be stopped until he gets to a check point because law enforcement just can’t blast people in a public area. Yes, this guy ran right past a few officers because the bad guy always gets to set time and place and those cops were probably on duty since noon so the fact they weren’t in a 3 point stance waiting for a crazy guy to sprint up to them isn’t a surprise.
And if it would have been 10 attackers, sure, they could have overwhelmed the checkpoint but there are other layers of machine guns which you saw in the ballroom.

Running should not be an issue with a so-called secured site. While others in the fringes took this lib leftist TDS infested dipshat down, he should have been taken down at the entry. Those SS at the entry need to be reviewed and perhaps relocated or fired immediately. Or at least have some type of barrier at the entry point. Jeez.

All you see on that video is one view. There were other guys who took him down in that same area. You are spouting nonsense that he got further than he did. He was stopped right there. If you want to go after the guys who looked up within a split second while a guy ran past then go ahead. I do agreee it would be great if cops could see 4 seconds into the future.
I’m sure the new protocol will be to push the checkpoints further out then everyone will complain when more roads get closed.

What's mind boggling is the tech used to prevent something so much worse.

Sorry, but if you think that circle jerk was an example of successfully securing an area you’re totally lost,
Especially since you’re comparing it to someone trying to sneak into a Super Bowl.
It was embarrassing watching the lack of attention.

Man, the way people throw around the word ‘insane’ these days is… well, insane .
My buddy and his gf live in a downtown Milwaukee condo in a building that’s connected to where the RNC was held a couple years back.. they werent kicked out, but holy shite did their lives suck that week, from what he told me .. the searches and the hassle they endured was way more than simple inconvenience .. but it’s not as easy as you think to just displace residents.. same with a hotel; you must be a huge fan of big government if you want government to tell a hotel to shut down for a couple of days, with no guests and no revenue , and maybe you’re ok with my tax dollars paying the hotel for lost revenue .. but i am not… im not smart enough to know the answer, i just know that ‘shutting down the hotel’ isnt the no-brainer you seem to think it is .
