Law enforcement doesn't generally reveal details about an open active investigation to the public. If we were to speculate, I'd guess the lack of info is indicative of more people involved than just the shooter.

We still haven't heard from the DOJ about J6, J6 pipe bombing, the election day 'bomb threats at polling places, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Trump's raid, 2 attempted assassinations', Epstein. Yes I said Epstein I DGAF.
Why should we think the DOJ or FBI will suddenly resolve anything? Is Bolton charged with espionage? What about the Russian hoax?

A good way to get evidence thrown out by a judge is to parade everything before trial
.
Also, you don't want people (witnesses) to hear shite on the news before they are questioned. Makes it hard to know what they really know

If they are investigating a larger group potentially I can see them not wanting to make those people aware while investigating.

You could see him walking down the street with a "limp" because he had the gun down his pants. If it had a collapsible stock. Couldn't he have just put it in a book bag?

The barrel is not collapsable = but IF he had a folding stock he could have made it short enough to conceal in his pants leg.
Or perhaps just sawed it off and screwed it back into place long enough for one shot.
