The other person who was killed was Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov. You think he was targeted for being a White Republican?

According to the only eyewitness report I can find, it seems like the first shots were just fired at the chalkboard.

Mt. Brook has had it's share of tragedies over the years. Population is a little over 22K.

Natalee Holloway was murdered on a high school class trip to Aruba. (2005)

High school student Lulu Gribbin was nearly killed by a shark in FL. She lost her left hand and her right leg below the knee. (2024)

Eight-year-old Sarah Marsh was among the many people who died in a major flooding tragedy in Texas. (2025)

31-year-old Megan Montgomery was found in the parking lot of the high school's athletic complex. Her death was investigated as a domestic violence-related homicide and an ex-police officer was charged in connection with the crime. (2019)

Terrell Guy, a 21-year-old former Mountain Brook basketball star, was shot and killed in Birmingham. (2017)

Taylor Harsh, a 24-year-old Mountain Brook died after being struck by lightning on a beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in a sudden storm. (2017)

A 10-year-old Mountain Brook girl was killed in a local car crash that also injured her sister and mother. (2023)

Laugh all you want, I'm just trying to gather accurate information. If some of y'all want to do the same, that would be great...like trying to track down how likely it is that Miss Cook was targeted for her conservative beliefs. [If that were true, why not attack a College Republican meeting?]

If you just want to make up information to meet a preconceived narrative, of course that's your prerogative. But, at least, SAY you aren't interested in facts.

Here's the only eyewitness account I can find. Some of it doesn't make sense...AND he might be hiding an agenda. ["None of the students could understand what he yelled."???]. But, the witness says that the first shots hit the chalkboard.

No, you’re not. You’re policing the board. That’s fine. We all do it from time to time.

That’s very different than the first shots were just fired at the chalkboard, which is what you originally claimed.

Why would any normal American family let their kid go to one of the Ivy League schools these days? Seriously.

Because the students and researchers want to challenge themselves. I can't speak for this young lady, but she was likely challenging herself academically far away from home with no thought she would be murdered in the process.

It is a horrible loss and whoever did it needs to be dealt with severely. I say whoever did it because apparently the local cops and other officials are totally useless.

And the first shots were just fired at the chalkboard do what? Somehow how diminish the outcome of the shooting?

What do you feel is the point of mentioning this??

Because it sure as hell doesn't change or diminish the outcome

Yeah, I get that but are the Ivies really providing that kind of rigorous academic experience any more? My post was directed to more than just personal safety. These “elite” schools have lost their minds. She would have received a better education at Auburn.

This is likely accurate.

This. The Ivies are definitely not what they were.

I have friends and relatives who have sent their kids to Harvard, Yale and Princeton for Masters and more.
Undergrads all at A&M, Texas, LSU and USCw.
Each one in hindsight said they would have been better off continuing their secondary studies at their undergrad school.

Yes. I was clumsy in phrasing that. The witness just said that the first shots HIT the chalkboard. He then says, "maybe if I hadn't have ducked they would have hit me."

BUT, it seems that the TA was ducked down before the first shots came "5 or 6 seconds" after the gunman entered the room.

My point was the gunman didn't seem to be targeting anyone in particular when he came in.
ALL this is based on limited information...which might not even be accurate...the TA said they heard screams and what sounded like gunshots OUTSIDE of the classroom, but the police report said the only shots fired were IN the classroom.
