People act like comedians are giving speeches. Jokes are mostly exaggerations and lies told for comedic effect
Big Jay Oakerson did a joke that involved his 16-year-old daughter being gangraped by a bunch of black guys
He heard some groans
So he addressed them thusly:
Oh nooooo. . .oh how can he joke about that happening to his daughter? You know how I can joke about it? Because it didn't happen. I made it up. My question is why are you so fricking affected by it? It's my fricking daughter.
You'll notice she is there in the front row laughing her gaped arse off.
Not a direct quote, from memory of a show he did years ago.
