You ignored this:

quote:

And rather than this lasting 18 months, as he projected in his first paper, which widely drove policies in the U.K. and U.S., Ferguson now predicts the virus will peak in “two or three weeks.”

Your entire first page of post history is all about this virus.

No, I'm not. I can't say if we've overreacted or not.

Maybe not most of us; but you certainly have.

He just says that is when it will peak though

Obviously it won't just disappear then

So what? I didn't say the world's coming to an end nor did I say that we overreacted.

If it peaks in 2 to 3 weeks after it’s been going on for about 6 weeks in the U.K. you interpret that to mean it’s still going to disrupt everyday life for another 15 months? Nah...no chance.

You come across sounding like you’re going to be very disappointed if CV-19 doesn’t kill a million Americans.

No. I don't believe it will disrupt every day life

I think you'll just see a slow trickle after the peak. I suppose my point was that it's not just going to disappear.

Well that's silly. I just hope that people are taking it seriously and not doing stupid shite like throwing house parties and such that could impact other people.

You are consumed with this. Make that the first two pages of your post history. It’s consuming you, bro.

Then you ask if we’ve overreacted?

Don’t play dumb. Just Get a grip on your life.

How many posters have you seen saying they are throwing house parties?

For whatever reason you don’t want to see infections and associated deaths to decrease. Anytime anyone posts something hopeful you pooh-pooh it. And usually after you throw a temper tantrum.

That’s creepy shite.

That's not that much really. I'm watching tv and posting here. Not a big deal.

I said I dont know if we, the nation, have overreacted by shuttering so much. What's the problem with that?

It’s easy to see those who have an agenda and those whose hair are on fire.

Wouldn’t want to be in a foxhole with either of these types.

Probably stressing the shite out of everyone in their lives.

Nothing. I’m only pointing out that this is obviously consuming your life.

A family member tested positive today and it hit home. But I’m trying to keep a level head about it. Sometimes it’s best to take a break and go find something on another board to look at. It’s now the first three pages of your post history.

Take a break, man. I’m literally trying to help you. It’s not healthy.

It's not at all. It happens to be the big current event and results in numerous new threads on the board. I post, so what? Not stressed at all. Now, if a Cat3 hurricane was bearing down, I'd be stressed.

Silly. You're consumed with winning some imagined argument with me and trying this lane approach.

Is it really difficult to understand there are people who realize that this is a significant issue but aren't certain what the proper action should be and that that does not make one "stressed?" For me, besides the stock market, I haven't been impacted.

I think... we've been looking at this with personal prejudices.

1st, almost everyone has seen zombie apocalypse movies, and shite like that. Coronavirus ain't that. To some, that means it isn't serious.

I think it's more serious than a lot of people seem to believe, and it amazes me to listen to some of these people. frick old people, and stuff like that. It's stunning how a 2 wk shutdown has caused some folks to lose their fricking minds.

It hasn't caused the dead to pile up in the streets... I fricking hope not. This is 21st Century America with modern medicine, I expect we respond and react quicker (as we have).

If that’s the case why weren’t our hospitals overrun with an unrecognized respiratory virus for the last few months.

You can dilute the number of cases but the death count and people descending on the hospitals in our urban centers is real. I don’t get your logic.

Again, this is projection.

My first post to you was that you certainly seem like you know a lot about this which you deferred.

This isn’t compatible with the now FOUR first pages of your posting history.

Take a break or don’t. Just trying to help.

We don’t kill the economy because of a “bad” flu season.

That took what, a year to get to 12k dead, and a total population of 320 million.

Italy has 18% of our population and they will likely hit the 12k death toll in the next 4-5 days. 12k dead within 30 days, with most of the country on lockdown.

Their mortality rates are much higher than ours but it is worth noting

Way too early to compare at this point, I hope it stays that way.

Yeah. The main thing is we need to make sure that the workers are being protected so they don't get infected also and that the system doesn't get overwhelmed

That along with the geriatric population there really let things get out of control

Spain is a different story
