Serious question: Did Al Franken resign for moral reasons or for political reasons?

I didn't hear a whole lot of contrition in his speech, or even admitting of guilt for that matter.

Sounded purely political to me.

Morality? Give me a break. Where in his character or career has he done anything for morality. Pure politics and nothing more.

Political.

He's previously admitted to making bogus apologies for political reasons. The guy's a pig.

Franken is Roy Moore’s biggest fan right now, because that’s his ticket to stay in the Senate.

You mean today? His non-resignation resignation?

He's, in his own words now, a did not do nothing.

Those women aren't lying but those photos paint a false picture. The pictures of his hands on their breasts is not in question though.

And so it's only politically expedient, er, moral that is, for him to resign at some to be determined time in the future.

Sounds like some of his SNL skit writing more than anything else.

Exactly, based on state law, if resigns before May then there is a special election in '18. If after, Governor appointee stays on until '20.

Franken didn't resign, and he won't. This was a ploy to put pressure on Moore.

While I’m at it, I’ll post a few more Q breadcrumbs

Here's where I'm at on Franken, with two points to consider;

1. I don't align with him or his politics at all.

2. I am the most stubborn motherfricker you'll ever meet.

I can say that in his situation, I would hold a press conference, apologize on an individual basis to anyone I sincerely felt that I had wronged and then told everyone else to pound fricking sand.

The people of the state of Minnesota elected me to vote their interests and that is what I intend to do. I serve at their pleasure, not Senator Pelosi's and certainly not CNN's.
