I wouldn't blame that on an anti-communist obsession, it was more anti-slavic and simply Lebensraum. I believe it was the land grab itself that was Hitler's obsession. The 'people' on it were just obstacles to be removed.
This is right. They saw Slavs and Jews as inferior to Germans. They wanted the land for their population growth and for self sufficiency. They viewed these populations as the easy target to just replace with their master race.

Good point. I've read some WWII non-fiction books that asks, "Why did FDR so quickly forgive Stalin for signing the non-aggression pact with Hitler which literally allowed Hitler to attack Poland to start the war?" I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question...
What does “so quickly forgive” look like?
It was a race to Berlin and then they built a wall in the middle of the city.
The Cold War doesn’t scream “so quickly forgive” to me…so I’m curious what they were saying there.

start one or two little wars
World War 1: Germany declared war AFTER Russia mobilized.
World War 2: Germany and USSR (Russia) had a pact to both invade Poland.
Seems like both sides like to start world wars. This time, maybe we should just let them fight it out and watch from across our big beautiful ocean.

Japan went to war with us for a specific reason. Germany started two world wars for genocide and land grab. There is a reason there was a wall in between East and West Germany for so long.
Japan started a war for genocide and land grab as well, or are you going to ignore the millions they murdered before Pearl Harbor happened?

Trump tried to warn em, but they laughed in his face, Go figure.

People forget that Germany and the USSR both carved up Poland as allies.

What does “so quickly forgive” look like?
Germany invaded the USSR in June, 1941 before the U.S. was officially at war with Germany.
Just a month later, in July, 1941 (still prior to Pearl Harbor by 5 months) Stalin officially requested military and humanitarian (mostly food) aid from the U.S. through Harry Hopkins [FDR's emissary to Moscow] and FDR approved military aid to the USSR, using the U.K. as a conduit since the U.S. was officially neutral, on October 1, 1941.
That is what I mean by "so quickly to forgive."
"In total, the U.S. deliveries to the USSR through Lend-Lease amounted to $11 billion in materials (equivalent to $148 billion in 2023): over 400,000 jeeps and trucks; 12,000 armored vehicles (including 7,000 tanks, about 1,386 of which were M3 Lees and 4,102 M4 Shermans); 11,400 aircraft (of which 4,719 were Bell P-39 Airacobras, 3,414 were Douglas A-20 Havocs and 2,397 were Bell P-63 Kingcobras) and 1.75 million tons of food." - LINK
Much of the aid was disguised as going to Great Britain to keep the dissent suppressed because FDR knew the American public and congress would be pissed if they knew Stalin was benefiting after Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, Stalin's real name which he changed to Joseph Stalin in order to sound like he was Russian which he wasn't, he was Georgian, had aided and abetted Hitler to start the war.
Trivia Fact: Vladimir Lenin also changed his name. He was born Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov and he used many pseudonyms to hide his identity and avoid arrest.
Lenin was the name he settled upon when he approved the start of the Russian October Revolution (1917). (It was believed he chose "Lenin" after the Siberian river, the Lena River, a female name so he made it masculine by adopting the male version of the name, Lenin, in order to poke fun at his main political opponent before the revolution, Georgy Plekhanov Volgin, a Menshevik to Lenin's Bolshevik, who was named after the Volga River.)
The founders of the USSR used deception for even their names...
