Just a point of view to share. The recovery is going well, and clearly driven by a march towards normalcy in most states.

Obviously states like my own are in no hurry to open up.

America woke up to the news Friday morning that President Trump and first lady Melania had been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

On a personal level, I am sure all our prayers and sympathies are with the president and first lady.

On an economic level, you know what that kind of breaking news means for Wall Street. With just a month to go before the election, investor uncertainty drove stocks down in morning trading.

The last jobs report before the November election was also released Friday. You may read elsewhere about an economic slowdown but September’s very positive jobs numbers actually confirm that we are still experiencing the most dynamic economic recovery in American history -- bar none.

Following the four best months for job growth since the government began tracking the data in 1939 -- 4.8 million jobs in June, 2.7 million in May, 1.7 million in July, 1.4 million in August -- the economy added an additional 661,000 jobs in September.

But for the four record-setting months that preceded it, September’s jobs numbers were the best since September of 1983 during the Reagan presidency. While this was a slowdown from four record-setting highs, keep in mind that the numbers slowed to a 37-year high.

What percentage of voters do you think will be fooled by those numbers and not recognize that those numbers are simply the re-employment of people who lost their jobs in the preceding months.

Record setting jobs growth. Laughable, if it wasn't so pathetic.

Wait a minute, even if it is just re-employment of those individuals, how is this not amazing news?

To have issues with this because you oppose someone politically is pretty bad, sister.

A recovery to what was the best economy we’ve ever had is still a recovery.

Do you concede the economy was rolling pre covid? Who did that? Who made us have a super V recovery while experts predicted we would still have greater than 20% unemployment right now? The answer to these questions blow a hole in your premise

Well you shits lambasted the president about the amount of jobs lost for the first couple of months of the virus so why can't he in a fair turn crow about those numbers going the other way? You people. damn.

and this is a great example of precisely the kind of low iq/low info person trump is trying to reach when he talks about one of the best economic recoveries ever. to illustrate the point, contrast this with the "recession" that obama faced. he had the WORST recovery since the great depression. when trump is faced with an economic obstacle, he records one of the greatest recoveries ever. so the question for halfwits like tex is, if obama was so great, why couldn't he produce numbers like trump? also, this puts a HUGE dent into the half baked theory that trump inherited a great economy from obama.

It’s beyond hysterical that he thinks he made some sort of AhHa point there.

The re-employment of those individuals is positive news. But calling these record setting months by comparing them to job gains under normal circumstances is deceptive, at best
