The Senate voted 49-51 on whether to take up the "Freedom to Vote Act," falling far short of the 60 votes required to overcome a GOP filibuster. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, switched his vote to a "nay," in a procedural move that will allow him to submit the legislation for a re-vote.

The result marked the third time this year that Republicans have blocked the legislation, which Democrats have supported in response to the passage of election security overhauls in GOP-led states.

Yeah...I fully believe Manchin will cave on the infrastructure bill once he gets paid.

I only thought the Democrats were corrupt before. Now I know they are also evil. I voted for Obama the first term, will never vote Democrat again.

Any person that votes with the majority can bring a motion at a later time for reconsideration to avoid the typical procedures.

So MR moderate Manchin voted for this Bill? Not surprised because he is playing politics. There is no way West Virginia wants that Bill to pass.

It's not that they have gotten dumb, they are in a full court press to try and finish this country off.
If they can cram through some "voting rights" bullshite and Federalize all elections, it is over.

If Schumer voted yes, it’s 50-50 with WBB breaking the tiebreaker.

So I don’t understand.

Please explain like I’m 5.

You need 60 votes to pass the filibuster.

Schumer wants at least one Republican vote so he can claim that it's a "bipartisan" initiative. He's throwing a hissy fit.
