I've already corrected that one.
I don't think it took.

We account for 37% of global defense spending
That's great, but it's still only a small piece of our federal spending. Which, again, was your objection before you started moving the goal posts.

To what? You won't answer that.
Just like Climate alarmists who can't tell you what our average temperatures should be, they are just certain that they shouldn't be what they are.
Give me a number.
8%?
5%?
Let's hear what it should be if a historic low of 11% is still too high.

Not really
It's still a very big chunk

bullshite. Almost 90% of the budget is not defense.
If you won a million dollars in the lottery and were taxed at 89%, would you say to yourself, "Well, I still got to keep a very big chunk of that?"
Just take the L, dude.

Once again, the denominator getting bigger doesn't mean that defense spending is minimal
Your failure to see this is bewildering

Needs to go to deficit reduction.

Once again, that affects every single line item the same way, not just defense.

Not when items like interest on the national debt and SS payments are growing for much different reasons

Nope, the math is the same regardless of the reasons for the growth.
You are the one who wants to talk about "denominators" meaning that the defense line item is artificially low as a percentage because the interest line item is growing.
That's fine, but so is every other line item as well. It's affected mathematically exactly the same way.

You simply don't understand the math
When the denominator explodes due to total expenditures ballooning, at some point it no longer makes sense to look at defense spending only in terms of total expenditures
The interest payments on the debt have reached critical mass where using % of total expenditures as a baseline is pure dumb frickery

Let's make this easy
Take the defense budget for FY 2001 and index it for inflation to 2025 dollars
You'd have 331.4 billion which would equal 603.7 billion in today's dollars. We are in fact spending significantly more than the 603.7 billion.

We haven’t received 600 bn in tariff revenue so it’s no different than a stimulus payment.
Either use the revenue to reduce the deficit, or index tariff revenues to get sent out to people in certain income brackets based on the actual revenue received so its deficit neutral

Hopefully you mean it would go to the income brackets that actually pay income tax, not another gimme to the wagon riders.

It’s a terrible idea based on our debt level

Is he wrong?
Yes and no.
We can’t afford to send $2,000 checks to everyone.
And Trump usually throws stuff out aiming high. So the $2,000 could end up being $1,200. And if that only goes to moderate to lower income households then the tariffs could pay for it.

What would be the purpose of it though? Economic stimulus? If the economy was humming along just fine we wouldn't need an economic stimulus.
Or is it just another wealth distribution scheme to buy support?

Better pass these out to lock up the midterms
