You said drive thru, not car hop people… Hello.

Drive thru is usually the drive thru window.. Drive in, is the car hoppers..

Whether or not they do report as required, employers are required to report a minimum amount anyway.

How many people pay in cash now? I would bet over 80% of tips are on a CC.

It’s prob about 75-80% are tips on cards. And while it won’t help a shite load of people, only 60% of hospitality workers will make enough for it to matter, it’s still saving them money.

The way our job growth has been going is mostly government and hospitality jobs though.

Btw this has nothing to do with the big beautiful bill.

This is the no tax on tips act pushed by Ted Cruz and a dem from AZ.

Which people? Why tipped employees and not electricians? Or bank tellers? Flawed precedent.

Hiring a bunch of new irs agents meant they had more time audit these businesses.

So while the argument of going after higher earners stands, if that person owns bars and restaurants and they audit the business, the employees of that business will also face the consequences. Being more strict on cash tip reporting would be an example.

I have received $3,000 in cash tips since the first of the year, probably another $2,000.00 on the check. Yeah, that’s not real money

Don't forget that Trump ran on no tax on tips, OT and Social Security. This bill including tips may be the only one that gets passed this time. It's up to Congress to pass bills including SS and OT. Don't blame Trump.

Not when tips are paid in cash but people generally dont pay or tip in cash anymore. Probably 75% or more of tips are on a card and are taxed.

People who work on tips are usually in the service industry and hardly get by. It's a big economic boost those workers. Did you not know that Trump ran on this?

Typical stupid bills that pass like this.

Tips being tax free means I am tipping maybe 5% moving forward.
