Will they deal and write in a 'secret ballot' into the rules? Watch for Trump to back down on China so Turtle's honeypot wife makes payday.

It'd be tough for a Republican in the Senate to vote for impeachment.

They would get a few Romneys to vote for it, but they won’t get the 25 or however many they’d need to convict him.

Shaky Nancy doesn’t control Senate rules.

This would only get in if Turtle let it in.

Fake news.

Any type of secret ballot, especially in a Senate Trial, is in direct violation of the Constitution.

None of them would be stupid enough to propose that.

It's also my understanding the house impeaches, the senate convicts or acquits.

Anyone know if Pelosi wrote 'secret ballot' into the rules?
Every American whether Dem, Rep or Ind should absolutely explode if either the House or Senate held a secret ballot for any measure, much less an impeachment.

17 isn’t it? Won’t happen. I can’t imagine any Republican doing anything to help the democrats here. If the Ds took over the Senate they’d make all Rs sit in the cloakroom writing “I will not be a bad senator” 1000 times.

Can someone post a link that says a secret Senate vote to remove a president is constitutional?

This is why it was so important for republican governors to be elected.

The Governors get to appoint senators and representatives on an interim basis if a congressman resigns.

I have a feeling that quite a few congressmen will be resigning when more and more investigations come to light.

Thought the would need majority to make it a rule. So 3 “rhinos” would have to be in favor of a secret ballot.

Yes, I meant that more as in they all work together. Don't you think it is odd how planned this is/was?

Turtle announced the timing (involving Burr) a month ago like a done deal. Pelosi was almost planned to go on CNN town hall last night like she knew what she was going to do for quite some time.

I wouldn't doubt deals being made all around...

The Senate and Impeachment Dynamic

Uniparty gonna uniparty.

The good news is their plan back-fired. Burr/Warner were all ready to 'hear from the whistle-blower'. Now they are stuck with muh Russians obstruction abuse of power.

They would be incredibly stupid to vote guilty.

I bet Manchin (D) of W.VA will vote no as well.

This "secret ballot" thing is hilarious.

If there was even a chance that they could have a secret ballot then those 2 faced bastards would have removed Trump 2 years ago

A secret-ballot Senate vote will destroy this country's diminishing confidence in this government. Horrific idea.
