This is how they “safely” move their money back to their families. Make every aspect of being illegally in our country painful and you will suffocate them out.

I thought she did a great job. That’s how a journalist should conduct an interview. She should play devil’s advocate to whomever she is interviewing. She was not hostile; she let him speak without interrupting; and I thought he did a good job answering.

She brought up an important point, which is that this will be very damaging to the economy, at least in the short run. One of three things will happen, and probably a combination of them:

1 It will be inflationary
2 It will cause a recession
3 It won’t happen

To the extent it happens (and I believe that outside of the criminal element, it will not happen) it will be inflationary if Trump cuts taxes, and it will cause a downturn if he doesn’t.

Donald Trump has proven one thing, he is not an idiot. That’s why I safely predict there will be no mass deportation of non-violent immigrants. If he does it, the press would show heartbreaking stories of wholesome families, with beautiful crying children, being torn from their homes, while their American neighbors lament the loss of these wonderful people. Plus, the dislocation to businesses would be extreme. And far from hiring Americans to do those jobs, the products will end up being imported. And if you stop that with tariffs the inflation will be Bidenesque.

From a practical standpoint, I think illegals who are currently working for instance as pickers in agriculture, might be given the option to be documented and given green cards allowing them to continue to work in the U.S.
But to apply for citizenship, they will need to return to their home countries.
It doesn't make sense to allow someone who violated immigration law to be allowed to apply for citizenship while they are here illegally.
