There are probably two people in DC who actually want to do that, and Trump wants to primary both of them for calling him on his bullshite.

Taxing income is theft . It always has been . Income tax should be zero for everyone . It really amazes me reading the NPC comments in this thread about how getting more of your earned money is bad .

Your statements in the context of what's being proposed are incompatible. They aren't trying to make income tax zero for everyone.

Keeping more of your earned income is good.

Select groups (classes) of individuals keeping more of their earned income while others keep less is bad.

Why is it stupid?

First, it should be on the first $150k or there would be no motivation to work more.

Second, when over 50% of the country is not paying taxes (we are close now), they will vote for anyone that keeps the promise to not tax them and tax the crap out of the "rich" - those making $150k or more - for all of the liberal crap they want (e.g., "free" healthcare, a "living wage," etc.)

Anything that does not ensure every American has skin in the game is dangerous.

Well, those that make 500k+ will have to pay more. And should.
Cool. Take all of it and you'll come close to balancing the budget.

Every company and business in the world is not relocating to the US and many will still sell to the US.
Indeed. Short of tariffs in the 1000's of percent.

Trillions in company relocations to the US will occur creating millions of jobs in the US.
Where will the CAPEX for this come from?

Plus reciprocal trade tariffs (where US trade tariffs were basically NIL) will generate trillions in revenue which will have a positive impact on the need for current income tax rates in the US.
WIth our strong currency? It's almost impossible for us to be an exporter nation, with our without tariffs.

So the only alternate is a weaker dollar. Guess what that does to inflation, or debt service expenses, and available captial for relocating manufacturing?

In summary, we get both.
Neither is the far more like outcome.

At that level? I'd go with 25% or more.
The current marginal for individuals at $500k rate is 35%.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Most of these people are sheep. They work for the Man. They never stepped out of line in school. Never took a risk. Weak mind and bodied men. Anything that is different from the status quo is ridiculous to them

Notice how they all just assume that the plan would be just to eliminate the taxes and change absolutely nothing else. Of course that isnt what would happen. To assume this, means that the assumer is the stupid one
