What do you think is the best and worst possible outcome for the reps?
I mean, some states are absolutely going to blow this opportunity.
Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee will go all-in and they should (all should)
MS and South Carolina are going to Indiana us. +1 in SC, 0 in MS would be my guess

South Carolina doesn't need to do a thing ... we're already in great shape Constitutionally.
We've got one Democrat ... Clyburn. You can't hope to do any better than that in a state with a 26% black population.
With the way it is now, we still nullify the yankee transplant vote.
Why touch it? Why mess up a good thing?

Exactly. They have the right to vote. They don’t have the right to win.

No bother.
I've seen +12 for just the SE.
I've seen + 24.
I think +20 is possible.

Based on the April 29, 2026, Supreme Court ruling, which narrowed the Voting Rights Act and voided a majority-Black district in Louisiana, projections indicate Republicans could secure up to 19 additional U.S. House seats nationwide. The ruling enables GOP-led states to redraw district maps to their advantage in the 2026 midterms.

I think a huge flip is not in the cards but this will still help the GOP.
At a minimum Louisiana goes back 5-1. I think it’ll be difficult to draw Louisiana as 6-0 without putting multiple districts in possible toss up range.
Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee can definitely draw the D’s out.
I agree that SC is fine.
You don’t want to make toss up districts.

So does Louisiana’s district map automatically revert back to a prior instance, or do we have to get it redrawn and passed before the election?

It’s almost impossible to believe that you guys still don’t understand that Democrats in blue states can, and will, counter any move like this.

The problem is how the minority population is spread out.
Which minority?
The entire race-centric representation is illogical.
Democrats seem to believe a white Representative is incapable of fairly voting for their constituents.
Are black Representatives the only people that can fairly represent all people? Are they superior morally to white elected officials? Are Hispanics and Asians not important enough to have their own districts.
The whole premise is insane.

They already have. That's why it's being countered.

And they will do more. There are more red districts in blue states than vice versa.

I'm sure you could explain it to me, although I don't want you to, and I'm glad you can't understand it for me.

They've already essentially maxed out their gerrymandering opportunities. Red states have not maxed out yet. Advantage: Republicans

Oh, really? How so? I'll wait .... unless you meant to type, "there are more POTENTIALLY Red districts, in Blue states, than vice versa?
If so, then you are 100% correct.
The problem is, and always has been, that since 1964 Democrats have been gerrymandering to eliminate Red seats and disenfranchise Conservative voters in Blue states at every turn ... non stop, incessantly.
Democrats started this.

That battle has already been going on, but this ruling limits Democrats a bit as many of the most heavily gerrymandered districts are blue districts gerrymandered based on race. In some of those areas (Chicago, for instance) they can redistrict and likely keep at least some of their seats (if not most of them), but that change has to be made up somewhere.
Here are two excellent examples:
Both were carved specifically for a racial quota. The key for districts like these are "who has standing to challenge it?"
