This is a rather stupid statement.

Only employees of the Alabama Department of Corrections are allowed in the death chamber. There is a chaplain on staff, based on the religious breakdown of the prison as a whole, so he is the only religious clergy member of any kind allowed in the actual execution chamber. They told this guy he could opt to not have the chaplain in the chamber if he chose, and every death row inmate is given access to their personal spiritual leaders. This guy's imam had been seeing him on death row, and was behind the glass for the execution. This was nothing more than a last-ditch attempt to extend his life. Nothing more.

Yep. No sympathy for this guy. He had that long to bring up this issue. It wasn't a new policy.

Why are you so afraid of being seen as racist against Muzzies?

I'm racist as frick toward muzzies and don't care what anybody thinks about it.

I hate them and I would disown any family member or friend that supported/practiced islam and I wish we could nuke the mideast into glass with the exception of Israel.

Then what is your problem with this decision?

The klan did not stick up for the rights of black people. Nazis/skin-heads/Muslims do not defend the rights of Jews. Israelis don’t stick up for Muslims.

So if you’re really as racist as you claim then quiet down, enjoy the show, and hope they mess up the formula so it hurts like hell

Didn't read the article and don't know anything about the story but I have no problem stating, I think they got this one wrong. As others have stated, religious freedom should exist for all. Shouldn't be too burdensome to have 1 extra person there.

The stupid part is that you think he's wrong.

Hell, Jefferson himself called you out for that 200+ years ago.

For me to form an opinion, I’d need to know if the role of the ADOC chaplain in the death chamber. Was he there in his role as a chaplain? As a spiritual guide? Or did he have some other duty in the death chamber and he just happened to be a chaplain who could provide a “spiritual presence” or by leading prayer, etc.

Lots of people can be considered “chaplains”, who aren’t full time religious leaders. What was this guy’s role in previous executions? If spiritual, Alabama should have provided for equal treatment of other inmates of different faiths.

You didn't read the article or know anything about the story.

My thoughts? You probably don't want.

But it would involve secretly feeding him pork products for his final meal- and letting him know just as the juice gets injected.

Because he allowed that little girl dignity in dying while being gang-raped and having her throat slit?

Well, explain it. when I posted. Nobody had explained the ruling. Instead of being a jackass, explain why they got it right.

Why should I when multiple people have already posted why in this very thread?

must be more to it, like he wanted someone special not allowed in the country so it delays execution until then.

a person should be able to have whatever representative of their faith to be there at execution but only so far as its someone locally available or who can be there so there is no delay in carrying it out
