re: Scott Adams on Pizzagate. IMO it's a fair assessment (at this point).

Americans don't exactly need a lot of nudging towards distraction, Jake.

The difference between there being a mountain of evidence that Trump is the next Hitler and Pizzagate being real is that the "mountain of evidence" about Trump has all been made up propaganda by the left. The mountain of evidence about Pizzagate has been deduced from factual materials.
This writer shouldn't comment that he knows confirmation bias when he sees it as he's obviously spouting leftist bias himself.
You just made his case for the power of confirmation bias.

I think 4chan made it up to get a bunch of people in trouble for looking at CP.
I think 4chan/Reddit found a bunch of odd looking puzzle pieces and cobbled them together with a lot of speculation to fill the gaps to make a compelling conspiracy narrative ripe for conspiracy enthusiasts.
It probably started with James Alefantis spending his entire life knowing that a slight bastardization of his name (J’aime L’enfants) in French means "I love the children". It may explain why he's comfortable trolling people with his own Instagram account. There's no doubt that he and his friend Tony Podesta have a fetish for being provocative. It could be worse than that, but anything more than that is wildly speculative and utterly lacking in meaningful evidence.
