I lived in Nashville for a few years and attended this church.
This is a conservative, PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) Reformed Christian church. The denomination attracts educated, conservative families.
My speculation:
I would be highly surprised if the shooter had an affiliation with the church/school, unless it was a disgruntled employee. These small Christian schools (Ive been on the board of a couple) do not pay employees well, and often have to staff their preschools with people that love on kids but may not be the most qualified. There is lots of turnover in the pre-K areas.
Oftentimes, 1st-6th grade teachers are qualified teachers who trade making better money for the loving environment that a school like this offers. They have husbands that make the income, and their paychecks are usually 80%+ going back to the school to pay tuition for their kids.
