Exactly.

If he had a clue, he'd know that their are a decent amount of black folks that would vote right did the right candidate.

It's ckearly on the right to "woo" those voters. They are there--just don't make it seem like you want nothing to do with us.

I've always suspected that a part of their refusal to cater to blsck people is due to fear that they'll scare off segments of their white middle class base.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I've done to oddly get under your skin. It's certainly not something I meant to do. Oh well. Happy New Year.

That second one is slightly anti-American.

That is the problem with the GOP they don't care about the black vote. Truth be told from a economical stand point if you are not in that oh so glorious 1% you should not be support the GOP. All those who are in the GOP and not in the 1% are just pawns doing there bidding.

Yea if a black man criticises America he is a racist or anti-American. However Sean Hannity and Bill O'Rielly can come on every night and bash the president for every single problem in America. I bet they probably blame slavery on Obama.

What Jeremiah Wright said about the causes for 9/11 is precisely what Ron Paul and Pat Buchanan said about it, albeit more inflammatory language.

i've participated in 2 campaigns before with candidates whose base was black support. i have more than a clue

hell locally we had a candidate who previously had overwhelming black support lose almost all of it and almost end up in a runoff simply b/c he switched the letter by his name from D to R. nothing changed with the man or his policies....just the letter

quote:

It's ckearly on the right to "woo" those voters.

rand paul is trying. we'll have to see how he does. if he doesn't get a significant portion of black voters (say, 20-25%), then it's a sign that it's not possible to be a viable GOP candidate and get black support

quote:

that all depends on what the black voting population in question desires as part of that catering

It's the butt-hurt reaction of LA Dems after the Senate race results. The mantra now is Louisiana is over-run by racist voters and political leaders.

Our historic First Black President's spiritual advisor:
quote:

– September 2001: “The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.”

quote:

"You are not now, nor have you ever been, nor will you ever be a brother to white folk," he said. "And if you do not realize that, you are in serious trouble."He cited the writings of Bill Jones -- author of the book "Is God a White Racist?" -- as proof that white people cannot be trusted. "Bill said, 'They just killed four of their own at Kent State. They'll step on you like a cockroach and keep on movin', cause you not a brother to them.' "Wright referred to Italians as "Mamma Luigi" and "pizzeria." He said the educational system in America is designed by whites to miseducate blacks "not by benign neglect but by malignant intent."He said Ethiopian Jews are despised by white Jews: "And now the Knesset [Israeli parliament] is meeting with European Jews, voting on whether or not these African Jews can get into [Israel]."The civil-rights movement, Wright said, was never about racial equality: "It was always about becoming white . . . to master what [they] do." Martin Luther King, he said, was misguided for advocating nonviolence among his people, "born in the oven of America."

quote:

– “We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional killers. … We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. … We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. … We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means. And … And … And! God! Has got! To be sick! Of this shite!”

quote:

"God Damn the USA of white America, U.S. of KKKA,”

quote:

"whites and Jews are controlling the flow of worldwide information and oppressing blacks in Israel and America "

quote:

"White folk done took this country," Wright said. "You're in their home, and they're gonna let you know it."

What's your definition of "racist"? If it involves a focusing on race above all other things, then his entire paradigm is built on racism as expressed through the church he built and controls, Trinity United.

The fact that Wright gave some "lifetime achievement" award to Louis Farrakhan is a pretty good indicator.

This was the most disappointing thing that Wright said IMO. Certainly, the U.S. has a history with using Black folks as guinea pigs, such as the Tuskegeee Experiment, which makes it easy for some Black folks to buy into the HIV conspiracy, but someone with Wright's position and influence should be more responsible this.

In 2012, Wright was speaking of blacks going to elite universities such as Harvard, Yale, and being turned into "biscuits", Wright said: “There’s white racist DNA running through the synapses of his or her brain tissue. They will kill their own kind, defend the enemies of their kind or anyone who is perceived to be the enemy of the milky white way of life.”

So white's are inherently racist because of their DNA?

I'm sure he wasn't as strident during his sermons.

Maybe racist isn't the right word, but bigot sure is.

I know 2 very, very, would be at home in Massachusetts Leftists, who have left leadership positions in a Parish Dem Party because the focus is solely on racial issues.

Ed Rendell, who is Jewish by the way, also honored Farrakhan when he was the mayor of Philadelphia. What's the big deal? Certainly Farrakhan is a racist, but unlike David Duke, he has done some positive things in the community, such as rehabililating young Black men when they get out of prison.
