Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) on Monday slammed a Republican voting requirement bill championed by President Trump as a top priority piece of legislation as “nothing but a throwback” to Jim Crow laws.
Why would Trump bring back yesteryear's Democrat policies?

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. You don't have to sell it to me, I'm already down with it.

If Clyburn is singing the blues about how fewer black representatives will be sent to Congress in the wake of the SAVE America Act seeking to eliminate voter fraud - what does that say about the legitimacy of black representatives who have been sent to DC under the current election infrastructure?

He doesn’t believe his constituents can connect those dots.

36 states have voter identification laws.
how did african americans get elected in these states if they have voter ID laws.....

Voter ID States: Many states with high populations of Black congressional members—such as Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana, and Florida—have enacted strict photo ID laws.

“And if the SAVE Act becomes law,” Clyburn continued, “it will reduce –– dramatically –– the number of African Americans currently serving in the Congress
and the follow question should be:
"Is that a problem?"
...."if you keep electing black female wackos' from Texas, the likes of Shelia Jackson lee or the most recent Queen of jive Ms Crockett, or the one who promotoes violence "Maxine Waters" yes we need to talk about no blacks in Congress- who are DEMOCRATS"...

Not if they were or will be legitimately elected.

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act “is nothing but a throwback to those laws that were passed after Reconstruction that made it impossible for African Americans to get elected,” Clyburn told CNN’s Jake Tapper.
So black people running for democrats rely on illegal voters?

This goes way back. I remember a cop telling me in the 90s that if you were black and applied you were guaranteed a job. They would fall over backwards to hire a black guy. Years later i remember a black cop ended up suing the dept because of some banana incident (i'm not making this up). It was all bullshite and he just wanted a huge payout.

If that were actually true, I'd probably support it even more. But it's not true.

Ehhh that's where it gets into a grey area. Focus should be on verification of citizenship to vote. I'd love to have a civics test for competence, but competency based voting is a different discussion.

Considering the "quality" of the ones there now, can't say this would be a bad thing if true

If passed, the SAVE America Act will require Americans to provide proof of citizenship to register to vote and a valid ID in order to cast a ballot.
And? African Americans already have to show ID for numerous other things and none of that is viewed as racist

In other threads we have people saying we live in north korea now, but kind of ignore the propaganda they have seen every day for decades.
Like this stuff.
