Somebody recommended a series of books by Kurt Schlichter, which documents how this divorce can come about.

In Schlichter's distopian world, once the divorce is complete, the blue states become "The People's Republic" and the red states remain the United States. Interestingly enough, the US folks think the red states chose "People's Republic" for the sole reason of pissing off the blue states, and the blue states say the same about the red states retaining the USA name.

Needless to say, The People's Republic becomes a huge welfare state that is more interested in social justice than jobs, food, and productivity. Social privilege scores determine what you get for your food rations, housing, healthcare, and other needs. White cisgender males get the lowest scores, so they desperately search their family trees for black or hispanic bloodlines in order to boost their scores. For some, they have to take on gay lovers in order to increase their score in order to live.

Interestingly, the rich, well connected, and famous all live behind walls, have a lavish lifestyle, and get the highest social scores - as if they were transgender black women named Suzuki Gomez-Hussein.

In the USA, people have to work for a living, so all of the folks who depend on welfare for survival move across the border to the People's Republic, and all of the people who don't buy into the SJW Marxist agenda move to the US before they shut down the borders between the two countries.

Inevitably, the US becomes prosperous, and the People's Republic becomes a shithole. The People's Republic shuts off all communications with the US and locks the borders down, in order to keep their own population from discovering that the US is actually prosperous and people have more than enough food. The People's Republic propaganda machine kicks into gear and is constantly proclaiming that conditions in the US are dire, as rampant racism, sexism, homophobia, etc, have them in a state of constant civil war.

The books are obviously fiction, but they do provide some of the insight into different techniques the ruling class exercises to control people. Some of those techniques are already on display in the US.

Interesting stuff...

We just need to make Sure Jon Bell Edwards is in the People's republic before they close the borders.

As everyone knows I've been on the forefront of this movement for several years (support Calxit, prosposing city-state solutions, etc.).

You can count on the "China" boogeyman as being the excuse for elites preventing this.

I still say returning to Articles of Confederation makes sense.

But it’s not the boogeyman. It’s a very real consideration and by far the largest of ramifications of a national divorce.

How will China conquer the US? They're not the ones bombing other countries (they rather build bridges, etc. for purposes of trade). Historically, Chinese are no conquerors unlike a certain group.

That's crazy. Countries have divorced from people like her in literally every country they've ever lived in.

Dude, for frick’s sake, think. They’re not going to physically take us over especially with our numbers of guns and our geography. They just want to bind us and the world into their will. They’re doing this quite successfully I might add. Look up the Belt and Road Initiative since I don’t have the time to explain it. Physically conquer us. Think. fricking think.

They lasted less than a decade last time. Why would we double down on failure?

During the Cold War, you prob. had this same mindset. Nevermind, the US selling its soul and eroding its own freedoms for the sake of "defeating communism."

When we ditched the Articles of Confederation, that was a very unpopular move (Patrick Henry among others walked out on the convention). It was a coup de tat in all but name.

The Articles of Confederation were trash. That was no way to govern a country. If you wanted to do anything of significance with like say national infrastructure, you needed near unanimity to do it. For instance, in 1785, George Washington wanted to raise money for a project to expand the Potomac River out west so that it could link up with the Ohio River. He got Virginia and Maryland immediately on board but New York ultimately blocked it because such a move would have made the Potomac the nation's dominant waterway in terms of trade. New York wanted that waterway to be the Hudson River.

First off I was 4 when it ended. Secondly this is in no way comparable to the Cold War. They’re much, much different animals. China isn’t actually even communist anymore, merely fascist. When I told Chinese people they were no longer living under communism, they actually agreed with me and said they live under New Communism, which even if they themselves aren’t aware of it is a synonym for fascism.

Also China has effectively conquered Africa, just through legal means.
