This is factually blatantly incorrect

When you are being told to pay $1.5 Billion for saying bad things that's ludicrous. He didn't kill their children. That's my point.

That’s a cumulative amount from several suits against both Jones and his company. The inflated numbers are common and meant to incur bankruptcy.

Civil awards are always inflated. No one awarded $1.5 billion in damages in any single matter, and no one ever contemplated him actually paying anywhere near that amount.

The court. Aka the finder of fact in all civil and criminal matters in the history of the legal systems of all of western civilization.

Something like this would be their only chance of ever seeing any money.

Are you saying that every jury that has ever been empaneled has been comprised of the same 12 people, AND that we keep having them in their roles after they are proven corrupt?

His words made people behave a certain way?

Is this an example of settled science?

appears facts are subjective no? Same as truth? The court system is geared to punish the right and allow for leniency on the left.

Is that what Jones said? Was he being hyperbolic or exaggerating for effect? Please post specific quotes with full context. TIA

If you have an issue with defamation laws, direct your ire towards the people of the State of Texas through their elected representatives who in fact did make it possible for a person to be found liable for knowingly spreading false information.

I would say the politically motivated jury pools, yes. Hell, the courts charged Trump with crimes that he didnt commit due to political tyranny

Gotcha. Every judge and jury in every jurisdiction is tainted. And somehow Trump is relevant to this thread.

Oh, and absolutely zero court charged Trump with anything.

District attorneys, special counsel, and states attorneys are not even a part of the judicial branch of government.

You need to take a civics class.

I wasn't questioning that. I was questioning the claim that someone can speak and force others to act a certain way.

So it’s incitement laws you have an issue with?

Besides, defamation laws are predicated on the notion that words do incite people to act. Where do you think the damages element comes from in defamation cases? It’s not the effects of the sound waves passing over the eardrums of the aggrieved party….its the secondary effects of what people do when they believe the false information.
