San Francisco airport officials say there's a 'surge' of homeless people taking shelter

Well, well, look who is losing out and is on the short end of the stick!!!

'Earlier this week, Fox 2 KTVU reported that SFO is experiencing a recent “surge” of homeless people taking refuge in the busy airport; many are said to arrive in the middle of the night via BART trains south from the city, as per the San Francisco Chronicle.'

'For example, a former airport employee told the outlet that she went everywhere with a “buddy” in the early hours of her shifts – apparently as a safety precaution – given the amount of homeless people she’d encounter, especially during bad weather.'

Over the summer, one travel expert acknowledged that San Francisco's homelessness crisis has intensified to the point of hurting the city’s $9 billion tourism industry on a grand scale.

"We are losing business," Joe D'Alessandro, head of the San Francisco Travel Association, told Fox News in July. "We have groups who say they can't come to San Francisco as long as the streets are like this."

Though the exact impact of the critical homelessness situation on San Fran’s billion-dollar tourism profits remain unclear, things are reportedly not looking good. In June, a major medical association withdrew from hosting its annual convention in San Francisco, claiming its members no longer felt safe there. The cancellation of that one five-day trade show represented a loss of $40 million to the local economy.

So what do they continue to do so unsuccessfully?!?! Have 'conversations' that lead to absolutely nothing.

Sounds like Frontier took their fares a little too low.

This is literally why we can't have nice things, because hobos are shitting in the streets.

Flood this frickin "sanctuary city" with homeless and illegals. Time for San Fran regressives to put their money where their mouth is

Serious question, why would you ever hold a convention in San Francisco while New York City, Boston, Orlando, Tampa, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Atlanta, Phoenix, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsbugh, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Charleston, and Indianapolis exist?

Cost
Convenience
Fun Factor

Most of the listed cities beat San Francisco in all 3, all beat them in at least one and are no worse than equal in the others.

Sorry, but would never go to anything in NYC (they're in the top 3 for homeless population) or New Orleans. Or San Francisco, of course!

I've visited every city on that list except Nashville, Pittsburg and Charlotte. San Fran is incredibly overrated and that's without a poop sculpture on every street corner.

I spent a weekend in SF w/ my SO about 7 years ago, and we had a great time and didn't see any of this. Glad we were able to get it in while we could.

NYC has some of the same drawbacks as San Fran, but it's on the East Coast and therefore much more convenient to travel to for the vast majority of people.

A friend of mine was there in January for a week long conference and he said he had never seen anything like it. Actual piles of human shite are everywhere.

Am I the only one who would seriously support euthanizing homeless once certain criteria are met?

Sure they're losing revenue and tourist dollars, but San Francisco is a sanctuary city. Virtue signaling is more important than money.

I was at JFK back during the late Fall and noticed a number of homeless sleeping in the skywalk from the concourses to the air train that eventually takes you to Jamaica Station. In previous years you didn't see that but apparently de Blasio was finally able to pressure the Port Commission (or whatever governing body) to leave them be.
