marriage was created in the Bible as the formal union between man and woman
And how was that formality accomplished? Bang a virgin girl and pay her father the bride price, and the woman becomes the man’s property.
The Bible also endorses one man having multiple wives and concubines. How many concubines do you have, Mr. Bible Thumper?

Plenty of examples that show you're wrong about where marriage started. Straight couples also get divorced more often than gays, though I'm pretty sure divorce lawyers were strongly pushing for gay marriage to have more clients.
All citizens should have the same rights when it comes to government. The government issues the marriage license not the church.

Husband and a wife are titles for people who are married to another in a heterosexual marriage relationship, where the husband is the male and the wife is the female.
Not sure how to refer to someone in a homosexual relationship as that doesn’t align with God’s creation ordinance of marriage.
It does offer a good indicator that the couple are not saved and need the gospel of Jesus Christ, though.

Spouse or partner is probably the best way to handle this, but let’s get Al from the 90’s take on this:

But I'm sure all the divorced straight people on their 3rd and 4th marriages are all saved.

Marriage is NOT a religious institution
quote:
This statement is generally considered accurate; while many people choose to celebrate their marriage with a religious ceremony, marriage itself is considered a legal contract recognized by the government, making it a civil institution rather than solely a religious one.
Key points to consider:
Legal basis:
The legal recognition of a marriage comes from the state, not a religious institution, meaning the government is the primary entity validating a marriage.
Religious ceremonies:
While many couples choose to have a religious wedding ceremony, this is not necessary to be legally married.
Secular options:
Individuals can get married in a secular setting, like a courthouse, without any religious affiliation.

LGBTQ+/Homosexuals are mentally ill. All of them. No exceptions.

Really is simple.
For the standard couple, men are husbands and women are wives. Most use partner or spouse.
It is when you have the mentally ill ones (trannies) that things get complicated, but again, that is NOT the usual gay couple. Normal gay people do not support the tranny movement or men in women's sports.

The Aboriginal people of Australia have a strong marriage tradition, a society that dates back at least 30,000 years.
Ima have to look this up, considering how far along their society has come, I'm sure their traditions must be interesting.
edit to add
quote:
224. Arranging Marriages. One important way in which marriages were arranged was infant betrothal.[12] Usually this was between a young girl and an older man. A man’s first marriage would not necessarily fall into this category: his first wife might well be an older widow. A girl could be betrothed either as a potential mother-in-law[13] or as a wife. Indeed it was possible for a girl to be betrothed before she was born and to grow up knowing who her future husband was likely to be.
yep, pretty interesting stuff in Aboriginal marital traditions!

Honest question no trolling. How do you label them? Husband/wife? Partners? They were doing a piece on Brianna Stewart (WNBA player) and they said she a “proud wife”. Obviously she’s married to a woman. What do you call the other woman?
There are no legal rules. Call them whatever you want to call them. It all depends upon how respectful or disrespectful you want to be. If you aren't sure, ask them.
I'm libertarian, so this is my stance on the issue:
Marriage is a religious construct. If your religion prohibits same sex marriages, and you have a same sex partner, then find another religion.
If your religion condones same sex marriage, then you're good.
The state should have no role in marriages. The state is there to enforce contracts between two or more people. Call them "civil unions".
One man / one woman. Two men. Two women. Multiple partners of both genders. Who cares? If all of the partners can agree upon a set of "civil union" rules, then good for them. No one else should give a shite.

Imaginary.
"Same sex marriage" does not exist. They can call it that if they wish, but God decides what marriage is and that is not one of the options.

I would agree on the Civil Union stance... but the gays demanded Marriage. Then they demanded Christians to Bake the Cake, provide the flowers and take the pictures.
Now they're in drag reading to preschoolers. And mutilating minors.
Roll it ALL BACK.

This is a lie. Didn't start out as a religious institution and still isn't one today. Governments give the legal recognition of marriage and only through the government Can you get a marriage license.
