He's right

And this board's dislike of Harris has almost nothing to do with his political views. It's because he makes them feel dumb and doesn't believe in their sky daddy.

Don't have a problem with Sam Harris, but I do remember when Dan Carlin made him look kinda silly on Common Sense a few years ago.

You have a different interpretation of how that conversation went than most people.

To be fair, The Communists killed 100,000,000 million people and expanded across the globe. And the shrill and violent Cultural Marxism that Sam Harris says is killing the Left, is their handiwork in The West.

All we ever did on The American Right is promote individual liberty , observe the Rule of Law and participate in our Democratic Republic.

It's really, really sad that Nazi has now become a meaningless insult, when that should be a serious accusation.
"racist!" fell to the same fate.

I can remember posting here and getting called a racist. I get all indigant. (Vegas Bengal was the worst!). Now all I hear is "victory!" because I know they have no objection, rational argument to make.

I like how you go straight to the strawman instead of telling us what he said...or is that what he said? A bunch of strawman garbage...."all the left does is claim racist, etc...."

Where is this "authoritarian Right" Sam talks about? I never met these people in real life. I hope he's not buying into this hysterical narrative that there's a Nazi hiding under everyone's bed.

Just watch the damn thing. It's very concise and only 4 minutes. Summarizing Sam Harris' words is almost like editing poetry. You don't do it.

It does exist, but not on the same level as many liberal sources that hacks like Don Lemon want you to believe. There are people like Richard Spencer out there who have a voice.

SH is obviously a smart dude, but his understanding of God, like most modern social media atheists, is at around kindergarten level.

Pretty good listen. Boiled down, the left using violence instead of logical argument are isolating themselves. But as you say there was more to it than that.

This coming from an evangelical christian I am guessing. The irony of that statement is delicious.

No, I am not an evangelical Christian. I should have said that SH and his understanding of God, as well as fundamentalist Christians, is at a kindergarten level.

Religious apologetics is the very essence of pseudo-intelligence. It consists of otherwise normal adults arguing over absurd beliefs not considered abject insanity only through various accidents of history.

In many ways the Trump victory parallels the exact same populist upset of the elite establishment that Zachary Taylor pulled off in 1848. Both beat back the establishment and seasoned and eloquent states persons in the primary and the general elections. The rough and unpolished Taylor defeated the most eloquent statesman of the era in Henry Clay and a war hero in Winfield Scott in the Whig primary and then Marrin Van Buren in the general. He was the Trump of his time as he raged against the machine and sped the nation westward to achieve its "manifest destiny." He was hated and chastised by the establishment and much of the media and the as seen as an unwashed interloper. Of course, Taylor barely made it halfway through his term before he died. Hmmmmm...
