Yeah, I’m sure they’ll do that..,

The highest paid position on average in the NFL is the left offensive tackle, not the QB. Anyone know offhand who is the Seahawks left OT?
Not Will Campbell or we would be talking about Drake Maye as the SB winning quarterback!

Darnold lost money playing in the Superbowl with CA's stupid greedy tax structure.
Summary:
He owes almost $80k even though the NFL pay to players in the Superbowl is $178k.
Being in the state for 7days and triggering the "Jock Tax" they get to tax that percentage of days he was in CA. So the % of days he was in CA they tax his $30 mill contract at 13.5%.
Poor football players

I read that as there is a bill named after him.

IIRC, he's woke and strongly anti-Trump.
This is what you get from the people you support, Sammy.

And next year's SB is in California again.
Get ready for teams to arrive for the SB just 6 days in advance

Only works if they don't have any other games in California during the season.

They sold out? To who?

There's a story about 4 baseball players that had nice signing bonuses back in the day.
Played in Canada Puerto Rico etc at triple A had to pay taxes in every state and country they played in
Some cities have professional athlete taxes on top.
These guys gut together and hired one accountant for the four of them.

Vast, VAST majority of them are just doing their jobs. How are they “selling out”?
ETA: I swear, this kind of reply is no different than the “greedy corporations” schtick from the left. Two sides of the same coin.

Imagine focusing on the wealth of those being taxed instead of the base philosophical idea that a state government has a right to latch onto your entire annual income and tax it based on the number of days you spend in said state.

yeah the jock tax is stupid but every state besides florida, texas, washington and DC does it
Not to the extent that Claifornia takes it. Most states just tax the money earned while playing in that state. California goes after all earned income no matter which state its sourced.

i'm not motivated by their strife. California is gay too.

One word …. “Philadelphia “

The only solution is to nationalize the teams and then make team sports tax free for players. Less rich people luxury boxes too. More for the common man!

The NFLPA is a union and we all know which way union leadership leans. Start highlighting the practices of certain cities and it won't end well for them.
Posted on 2/10/26 at 8:29 pm to jp4lsu
People in CA just need to stop paying taxes. Their state government doesn’t do shite for them but make life worse if you are an actual citizen of the USA.
