Six Narratives Russia and Its European Proxies Ran in Tandem

Narrative 6: “America Broken, the West Finished”

The sixth narrative exploited the US-Iran confrontation to advance the claim that Western global dominance is over.
RT framed the ceasefire as American “strategic capitulation”: “Faced with determined resistance, the US stepped back. None of the sweeping demands set out at the start of the operation were met. America can still influence outcomes but can no longer simply impose its will at any cost. That lesson has now been absorbed far beyond Tehran.”

RIA Novosti amplified Scott Ritter, a regular fixture in Russian state media, claiming: “The US is already broken. They have no solution. There is no solution for the Strait of Hormuz, and the situation will only get worse. All the trump cards are with the Iranians.”

Czech and Slovak proxy sites followed immediately. CZ24.news ran Ritter’s assertion that US military capability had declined to “near-total powerlessness” and that America “has no place” in the new Middle East paradigm.

Slovak skspravy.sk catalogued Trump’s repeated declarations of victory with open contempt: “How many times has Donald Trump already won against Iran? Perhaps seven or eight times he has declared that Iran suffered absolute defeat. From such conduct one can only conclude that the US Navy today does not have the courage to sail into the Strait of Hormuz.”

I mean just because its being pushed by Russia doesn't automatically make it false.

I don't need Russia to tell me some of that is true. I see it with my own eyes.

Narrative 1: “Brussels Is the Enemy and Europe Started the War”

The CIA started the war. Specifically Victoria Neuland started the war.

Narrative 2: “Sanctions Are Destroying Europe, Not Russia”

Pretty sure it's messing them both up a lot worse than us.

quote:

Narrative 3: “Europe’s Self-Destruction Is Inevitable”

Uh, no shite. They're actively committing cultural suicide.

quote:

Narrative 4: “Ukrainian Aid Is Theft From European Taxpayers”

Not to the extent that it is for the US taxpayers but still true.

quote:

Narrative 5: “Ukrainians as Europe’s Enemy Within”

They have one of the most corrupt governments on the planet and they were smart enough to suck up to the globalists to be their money laundering outlet. They are nobody's friend.

quote:

Narrative 6: “America Broken, the West Finished”

We shall see if the west is finished, but America is obviously broken. The west will live or die on the answer to the question, "How broken?"

They’re right, but they also can’t do anything about it.

We should have brought them in when Yeltsin and then Putin were begging for investment and a pathway to NATO.

Instead we told them to frick off because our politicians (who are still in office) chose to govern as if it were 1974

Meh. Most if not all of the passive actions we have taken against Russia politically and economically are counterproductive and do nothing to achieve our goals.

This is true with respect to energy. Europe is essentially asphyxiating itself through idiotic energy policies and sanctions on Russian oil imports.

quote:

Narrative 3: “Europe’s Self-Destruction Is Inevitable”

Europe is actively destroying itself through net zero economic policies, de-growth initiatives, cumbersome welfare states, and unfettered immigration from the Islamic World. If they do not majorly reverse course (and soon) Europe will destroy itself.

Narrative 4: “Ukrainian Aid Is Theft From European Taxpayers”

This is an exaggeration. I wouldn’t call it theft, but it definitely doesn’t seem like the best deal for taxpayers at this point. Granted, Ukraine finally seems to be seriously gaining ground, so it’s not like everything contributed was completely for nothing.

Brainwashed by who or what?

Our entire media and political establishment has done nothing but preach the opposite for 3 decades.

Who is brainwashing me?

I don’t watch cable news, read any opinion/editorial content, or have social media (outside of this site)

The weak part of this kind of article is when people hear "Russia amplifies X" as "therefore X is false". A lot of successful propaganda works precisely because it latches onto real tensions/grievances that already exist. People underestimate, though, how state actors can selectively amplify and bundle those grievances into a broader "the West is collapsing/democracy is fake/alliances are doomed" narrative because that framing benefits them geopolitically. Both things can be true.
