If Turkey & Russia duke it out (which I doubt b/c they need each other vs M.E),
we don't need to get directly involved except information gathering

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was engineered by our government to drum up support for further involvement in the Syrian conflict and further weaken relations with Russia.
