Russia used every major social network to aid Trump, report finds

More "muh Russians on social media" stuff:
...
A few questions:
Why does our Senate Intel committee need some people at Oxford to do this analysis?
Why do they not mention the pro Hillary messaging the Russians engaged in after the election? The "Not My President" rally was fricking organized by Russian social media trolls according to Mueller's own indictments.
Why do they assume all pro gun and anti illegal immigration people are somehow "brainwashed" by Russia? Do they really expect us to believe this crap?
Why are they so racist as to assume black people are so easily tricked by Russia into not voting?

A new report prepared for the Senate concludes that Russia used every major social network to support Donald Trump during the 2016 election, and continued to support him after he was elected president.

The tech companies provided data for several years of posts, up through mid-2017, the Post reported. The report by Oxford University’s Computational Propaganda Project and network analysis company Graphika found that a Russian disinformation campaign using thousands of accounts targeted American voters for years, with evolving messages that peaked around key moments, such as the party conventions and presidential debates.
quote:
“Trump is mentioned most in campaigns targeting conservatives and right-wing voters, where the messaging encouraged these groups to support his campaign,” the report said, according to the Post. “The main groups that could challenge Trump were then provided messaging that sought to confuse, distract and ultimately discourage members from voting.”
The report found that Russia used the issues of gun control and immigration to energize conservatives, while discouraging African Americans — traditional Democratic voters — from voting by undermining their faith in the electoral process and spreading lies about how to vote.

Who fricking cares? Hundreds of millions, perhaps billions, of people use social media. A couple hundred/thousand accounts is one drop in the metaphorical social media ocean.
It's not like the same messages spread by russian bots weren't spread by legit accounts, anyway. Word would have gotten around with or without russian bots.
You can make the argument that the DNC hacking was important, but to argue that trolls and bot accounts on social media were some sort of substantive factor in the 2016 election is comical.

I posted a lot of shite in support of le pen...and issues that she endorsed. So did a lot of other people in America.
Wouldn't it be strange if france started a multimillion dollar investigation into how America was trying to use social media,
to rig their election ?
France would be pretty stupid..if they proudly declared that all Americans that used social media to support le pen, were actually government employees..

They provided a nice blueprint for the RNC to use in 2020.

Interesting they don't mention the fake anti-Trump rallies that Russia promoted in Dallas and NYC. I believe it was Michael Moore who was caught on camera at the one in NYC.

I don’t always let social media influence my decision on which president to vote for, but when I do - I vote for Trump!
How fricking stupid is this continuous dribble about how Russia “influenced” the election?

The daily evening liberal news does more influencing than anything Russia could ever hope to achieve.

I’d like to read that report, hope they make it public

I still do not understand this argument. Hillary won the popular vote and President Trump got elected because of the electoral college. How did Russia influence that?

You must have manure for your brains to think Mother Russia wanted Trump to win. Why would Putin want Trump in control when he made Hussein his little butt boy? Putin owned Hussein and If you have been following the Uranium 1 fiasco you would also know that Putin owned the fat skank bitch. Imagine if she had won, Putin would have had so much blackmail leverage on her. No way in hell did Putin want Trump in there because he knew he could stomp all over fat bitch and probably had clue what to do with Trump

I didn’t see anything mentioned about how the MSM went all-in for Hillary.
