Problem is that I don't see the US deploying to help out Ukraine nor would I expect any European nation to do so since Russia has them by the short and curlies due to their resources of oil and natural gas.

Someone should probably tell Malaysia Airlines that one of their planes is down. Unless it was on the news, they may not be aware. Thank goodness someone found it for them already.

fox news is reporting that this missile uses a homing system so if it fires at a plane but if there is a larger plane in that same path it will divert and take on that plane.

That's a best-case scenario.
Problem being that Russia is the only power willing to get involved here and this is a country which has had no problems going medieval on the asses of any group going against them, regardless of the collateral damage involved.
