The problem is that Roger is using accurate terminology to properly describe political philosophy that is misunderstood by most of the board.

Bernie is absolutely an economic populist and today I learned half the board thinks populism is an ideology.

You can look up the term populism and it will vary from what term you attach to it. Terms like economics, identity, liberalism, conservatism etc do not change the core definition. At the end of the day, the definition remains the same. Those who support a person, position, idea, etc. all are populists hence the group collectively form a populism effort. Do not get caught into the definition game as most or many understand that populism really represent a faction. Populism does not have to be the majority or minority but rather a group that agrees on….well anything.

No. Absolutely not what populism is.

It's a specific form of political strategy that is built, at its fundamental core, around the concept of the people seizing power back from the political elite, a distrust of current state institutions, disdain for the entrenched establishment, and charismatic leadership.

It typically leans heavily on fiery rhetoric, rallies, speeches, and appeals to the perceived common man.

You can, and people have, wrapped it around every ideology under the sun.

Bernie Sanders would make the best Democratic candidate for President. Might be his last chance. With AOC as his VP the Dems are sure to regain the Whitehouse.

Absolutely. This country is begging for a 92 year old president thinking about re-election.. Love this idea.

If by best candidate you mean will quietly take money to ride off into the sunset, then you are correct.
