I watched a documentary about America industrial might during WW2.
They interviewed this black woman. She was the highest class welder, a black, a woman, and had moved to Mobile Alabama to work in the shipyards.
I cant imagine the shat this woman went through. In the interview they tried the racist angle and how hard it must have been. She wasnt taking it on at all. She said "Yes we worked hard, very hard, cause we wanted to show those Japanese when America hits back....we hit VEERRRY HAAARRD.
Fu*k I miss that America.
