Speaking in South Carolina today:
"I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn't do anything while things were going on. He should have come out more forcefully, of course that, but to try to criminalize that, that's a different that's a different issue entirely and I think that we we want to be in a situation where you know you don't have one side just constantly trying to put the other side in jail and and that unfortunately is is uh what we we're seeing now. So, there's umm again I have I just someone had whispered this to me so I'm sure I'll have a chance to to look at this umm in the future depending on on the development."

J6 was not Trump's fault.
Only the Democrats are prosecuting one side.

No sane person thinks Trump handled himself perfectly that day. DeSantis makes the strong case he didn't do anything criminal but that's different than saying he didn't make mistakes. I mean unless you think Jan 6 and what happened was good for Trump.
