His shouting and canned one-liners just didn't land. He came off as awkward and rehearsed. He needs to calm down and just be more natural.

Even you Ronbots have to take the blinders off and see this. One of Trump's greatest campaign tools is his natural demeanor and how he is able to relate to everyday people despite his vast wealth and upbringing.

Spare me the "it should all be about policy talk" because outside of this poli board, everyone you know doesn't care about policy as much as you. It's a sad reality of the general society.

Ron will never get his policy points to land unless he stops shouting the whole time, loses the scripted one-liner slogans, just talks naturally, and sounds less like he is rehearsing for the WWE.

Despite what you think, I want Ron to do well so he is ready for 2028 but last night he had a lot of awkward moments.

I'd be happy if he just gets a suit that fits.

Dude looked like a 5 year old getting ready for his Olin Mill photos in big brother's hand me down jacket

He seemed very robotic and mechanical.

There's a rumor swirling around that DeSantis is going to fire his whole campaign team and hire me, Jon Ham and rmnldr to lead it.

Because Trump is always himself and is real.

He doesn’t try to be something that he isn’t, and that’s why he has such a great connection with many voters and his supporters.

He needs to just embrace himself. Ron Paul and Nixon are two who come to mind as awkward, but both just dealt with it and were more effective because of it.

if hes still in it in April he'll be better.
personally i think it was a useful snapshot that reveals his character.
all he needs is a better writer. scripted one liners are ideal for the 8 guy no-debate debate format. his pugnacious ego tripping will work better one on one if he lasts.

Agreed. He seemed tense.

Agreed. But even most on this board don't give a shite about policy. Thus the silence when asked what about Ron's policies are GOPe in nature.

To be fair, they were all shouting because Vivek was doing his best to emulate Trump and yelling over everyone when they were responding to questions.

Agreed. He did not peform as well as i would have liked.

I think he needs less debate prep. Or a different kind. Maybe that's how he always is in this setting, but he looked conflicted between saying what he wanted and winning the debate style award for the night. It seemed like being the front runner on stage was overwhelming to him. Of course since he isn't the overall front runner, I appreciate the unique position he was in.

Wait, so Ron is NOT GOPe? Y'all have a lot of explaining to do over the past year and a half then.

There are one of three ways Ron could have approached a 2024 presidential run and he picked the worst option:

1. Finish his governorship in Florida and opt out of 2024 and grow and save his political bona fides for 2028.

2. Allow the donors and Murdoch money to coax him into running and become a corporate donor vessel parroting donor talking points at the same time trying to ride the fence to appease the base with vacuous one liners.

3. This option is a hybrid of 1. and 2. Play coy with the donor class, reject Murdoch's book deal all at the same time keeping them at arms length. Treat them like girls you dated in high school waiting by the phone for your call. Create an environment where people are begging you to get into the race.

The bottom line is DJT is in this race and the GOP base feels like there is unfinished business, and there is. Therefore Ron should have just stuck with option 1 and disappointingly he selected the worst possible option, 2.

Maybe he had too much debate preparation.
