When I asked DeSantis to cite specific differences between him and Trump, he said: “Well I think there’s a few things. The approach to COVID was different. I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage.”

FACT

quote:

“I also think just in terms of my approach to leadership, I get personnel in the Government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda. You bring your own agenda in you’re gone. We’re just not gonna have that. So, the way we run the Government I think is no daily drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board and I think that’s something that’s very important.”

FACT

quote:

“I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don’t really know what it means, but I kinda like it, it’s long, it’s got a lot of vowels. We’ll go with that, that’s fine. I mean you can call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner because that’s what we’ve been able to do in Florida, is put a lot of points on the board and really take this State to the next level.”

FACT

quote:

“Well, I would say if you look at some of the change from that . . . the major thing that’s happened that’s changed his tune was my re-election victory.”

FACT

And i'm sure the sky screaming has already commenced, but your headline "Ron DeSantis opens fire on Trump's character, chaotic leadership style" is completely full of shite.

It was a clickbait headline. But I don't make the news, I just report it. Blame Piers Morgan and NY Post. They actually softened it a bit from "opens fire on" to "rips."

I think it's too easy NOW to say he would have fired Fauci, though. Was he ever calling for such a thing at the time? Is he pretending not to remember the climate surrounding all of that from the time?

I mean Trump started calling out all of these swampers in 2016 after he donated to most of them for decades

If someone sincerely came to the right conclusion even if it is in hindsight I will applaud it. There are still millions who trust Fauci.

In fairness, as a Ron supporter, I thought the "winner" line was kinda lame

From what I can see, both seem to have come to this conclusion at this point.

I'm fairly confident neither Trump nor DeSantis currently "trust Fauci."

And they both get credit for that. One still gets the blame for being able to fire him while it was happening and not doing it, though. Just how it goes.

Sure. I'm just not sure how far a person trying to capitalize on that will get unless he can show that he was shouting from the rooftops that Trump should have actually done that at the time.

Nobody gives a shite about Trumps character.

You’re a fricking idiot. This is a main reason he lost the suburbia vote. Especially women

A good rule in politics.. hold your side accountable or the other side will. A frenetic campaign worked in 2016. Yet he lacked the foresight/ability to change his messaging during Covid + 2020 campaign. People were exhausted and wanted some type of normalcy. This is why we’re stuck with Biden.

The man has one blueprint (i.e. 2016) and it’s not going to work again.

I’ve voted for him twice but I’m tired of his bullshite. You cult followers that continue to excuse his bullshite are only doing him more harm.

The actual fact is that Trump forced him out of hiding. WHY? Because of him hitting his weaknesses and it was effective.

I kept telling you guys (who only can respond with 'CULT!') that he was tanking and why. So once more for you:

- I personally had high hopes for DeSantis and my posts show that... I saw a patern change last year, and I was not alone.

- He literally changed what he stated he was going to do with Disney and the only explanation is Griffin who stated in an interview "I do not appreciate Gov DeSantis going after Disney's tax status." And Ron changed directions.

- His stance on Ukraine was known in 2014 when he demanded that Obama send Jets and long range missiles to Ukraine. He then surrounded him self with people who love Zelensky and want this. Christina. So his comments that were anti jets and missiles were suspect from the get go.... but it was what he never said. "We will not get involved and we will not send money".

Here is why he did his interview.... and why it was early:

quote:

2024 Republican primary polling trends by Morning Consult

Jan 2:
• Trump — 45% (+11)
• DeSantis — 34%

Feb 25:
• Trump — 48% (+18)
• DeSantis — 30%

March 14:
• Trump — 52% (+24)
• DeSantis — 28%

MARCH 19:
• Trump — 54% (+28)
• DeSantis — 26%

Please note the date of March 19th. His numbers dropped because he was silent on Trump and the DA. And this is PRIOR to his "I have real problems" comment that took him down even more.

Those are the facts.

Polls don’t work like that bubba, they’re not immediate. And if they are, then they aren’t accurate.

I’ll remind you of your devotion to polling this time next year when it’s telling you info you DON’T like - info that is more accurate.

Yeah... Doesn't really matter what you think. What matters is every polling firm is pretty much confirming what we have been seeing.
