I'm discussing the Rittenhouse shooting with a liberal buddy of mine. We've posted many sources and videos outlining the facts around what happened, but they are scattered all over the place. If you have any of those articles, videos, etc, saved, please provide those. I'm trying to open his eyes to what the media has done to this kid.

And point me to the actual video of Rosenbaum's initial interaction with the armed group, too. It's amazing how hard these are to find (without unnecessary opinion thrown in) via Google now.

I'm tired of hearing about this guy. Yes, the video shows it was 100% self defense but let's not kid ourselves and pretend it wasn't stupid of him to go into that environment to begin with.

You can’t open a commies eyes. The only proper treatment is a helicopter ride

BTW, any clear examples of media slant....the pic of mostly peaceful protests with buildings burning in the shot was great, too.

That's not the argument.

It was “stupid” to charge a beachhead with entrenched machine guns in June, but it had to be done.

Was it stupid of everyone else who was there to go into that environment?

I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense to apply different standards to everyone involved.

I always thought there needs to be a shared drive of all the articles and quotes Google hides from us.

Time to make a new search engine the grassroot way

It’s “stupid” for anyone to be out after midnight in most metropolitan downtown areas in America. That doesn’t mean anything with regards to the right of self-defense. At all. Ever.

What persons would have been smart to go into that environment to accomplish the goals Rittenhouse sought to accomplish? If no one, do you mean to say rioters should have free reign and we just have to let them do what they want? If some other persons would have been smart to be there, what would they have done different than Rittenhouse?

I think, oddly enough, the NYT did a good job of laying out the time line of what happened based on the video evidence.

ETA: I'm not saying it's perfect. They get this wrong, I think.

Mr. Rittenhouse seems to make a phone call and then flees the scene. Several people chase him, some shouting, “That’s the shooter!”

As Mr. Rittenhouse is running, he trips and falls to the ground.

He didn't just fall...the first guy to him punches him in the head which knocks him slightly off balance and THEN subsequently falls several steps later. if it was football, he'd be down there and the guy that hit him would be credited with the tackle...so I don;t think he just fell while running.

Agreed 100%. If you are going into that environment you play the Roof-Top Korean game with a fire team. Being solo was what made him a target to the mob.

Well to be honest, I haven't followed this situation very closely but I could've sworn the argument was that he murdered those guys, not in self defense. That he went there looking for trouble and murdered them.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I could've sworn that was the argument here. I'm just tired of hearing about him because I don't feel sorry for him or the people he killed. You won't see me voluntarily going into a riot. Don't know why he felt the need to do so. It's true he wasn't LOOKING for trouble but any reasonable person would have to expect trouble in that situation.

He shouldn't be charged with murder BUT he's a dumbass nonetheless.

He went there to supply medical aid to the injured rioters that he personally disagreed with as well as to help protect businesses.

Where is he wrong in doing this? Or are you just jealous that you don't have the same level of courage as a 17yo kid?

The liberals are so misinformed and they are arguing false/fake accounts of the scene.. Just the other day a liberal told me that Rittenhouse was chasing Rosenbaum.. I provided a youtube video break down and the liberal said that the reporter backed up his point.. I threw my hands up and called the guy a moron....

Why? Would you defend your community from thugs if the police wouldn't?
