EBRSO did this in Gardere and it worked?

Watch what they do, not what they say.

The ex mayor had police problems too. Chief issues, and letting the force get undermanned.

But I'll be watching once she goes on the clock.

What's so funny? They changed the way they policed the area, added a substation, etc.

While Gardere isn't the premier location in the parish, it's a hell of a lot better than it was 10 years ago.

It's a lot safer at least. Seems to be more traffic and retail now too.

I did not vote for Broome...but some of you are acting as if she's a nut like Denise Marcelle.

Definitely night and day. I can't remember the last time I heard of a murder in Gardere on the news, and that used to happen constantly. It's been a big turnaround.

I don't think it will get much safer without bulldozing a some of those fourplexes....of which there are already a lot fewer than there were 10 years ago.

She was on the front lines protesting BRPD
Personally I think BRPD will suffer (she can't force people to apply for jobs) & the community will become more dangerous because of it

So guests in north Baton Rouge will pay higher taxes, starting Feb. 1, while hotel tax rates for the rest of the parish will remain unchanged.

So North Baton Rouge hotels are taxed higher now. All 5 of them.

[quote]After the murder of Alton Sterling, one of the first calls I received after reporting on the incident was from Sharon Weston Broome. She called to say she wanted to help in any way she could. In the moments following, she attended the press conference on the steps of city hall, she never attempted to be seen, but she was present. She met with the family privately to offer her condolences, an act that was never seen, but she was present. She attended meetings and protest/quote]

No, she wasn't making sure she was in front the camera like C Denise but she picked her side & supported it

Naw, Baton Rouge airport is one of the better facilities in the southeastern United States. Very much alive and friendly to private aircraft.

My home value in BR proper disagrees.
this, I live in zip 70817 - none of the 200 plus homes in our subdivision didn't flood. Lot of the flood victims from LP and AP (the 30 to 40 yr olds)- are staying with relatives as I type. I am very satisfied with the value of my home and the few in the subdivision that was for sale is long gone.

Broome is such a dolt. Baton Rouge now has Sheila Jackson Lee as their mayor.

The BR Business Report, hardly a bastion for liberal thought and opinion, endorsed SWB. Maybe they know something we don't.
