They know how to make Doritos and Mountain Dew without the crazy shite, because they sell them in Europe. They choose not to here because... rea$on$.
Europe isn't nearly as fat as the US either.
Hell, the pasta eaters in Italy aren't as fat as the typical American.

These are valid points

I’ve said it before. I don’t agree with European politics hardly ever, but how they regulate what kind of food their population eats is what we should be doing. I’ve been to Italy several times and I ate like a fricking pig but I still lost weight every single time. That’s what initially threw up a red flag in my mind.

They aren't ingesting bioengineered wheat strains that are running 300+ years ahead of the modern human digestive system either.

To be fair, if people walked on a daily basis as much as one does when they are on their vacation in another country in Europe, they'd probably lose a similar amount of weight too

I have never understood the reasoning to add dye to anything we consume. It's just for coloring? The color doesn't matter.

Sure it does.

Nope. The government makes the rules, and we are supposed to play by them. Don’t blame the players for bad rules; blame the rulemakers and the folks who elected them.

How is it fear mongering if the fricking dyes are listed in the ingredients? They have been linked to cancers for decades.

Not a difficult concept. If they are listing it in a grouping of multiple ingredients or calling it a completely different/coloqueal name instead of the full name that the US is required to use, and someone tries to use that to make a point off of, it is fear mongering.
As exampled earlier, it has been done with Red Dye 40 for years, making people believe that it is banned in Europe. It isn't. Not being honest, to try and scare people into your side, instead of being honest is fear mongering.

Cool. Random statement. Not relevant to my point or anything i've spoken against. As I've said multiple times in this thread, i'm all for getting them out of our foods. Stick to this type of argument instead of "its banned in Europe, they are trying to kill us" arguments. There is plenty we ban that they allow too. If you are going to compare things to point out differences, make sure you equalize what you are comparing so that the only variable is what you are trying to show. Otherwise, you are being disingenous.

Yep. Even the European products use coloring (though a lot more of theirs are more natural coloring than all of our artificial ones). Acting like color of food doesn't matter is just silly

If the meat in the cooler is the same color as a Victory Red Chevy, I don't buy it.
For reference;
Victory Red
I only buy meat from my local butcher. No coloring added.

So that color is natural?
I only brought them up because of their campaign about the actual color of their ketchup.

I did not downvote you.
Yes some curing processes can turn it pink. I saw video where the were injecting sliced ham with some liquid to give it a pink color. This was a year ago. Can't find it real quick. I did see where they inject with carbon monoxide to do the same thing. As saw the process and it was some liquid solution.
Both are banned in Europe and some other countries.

A more recent one i've seen used to try and scare people recently is coloring around farm raised vs wild salmon. It is beyond laughable.
