That was great of him to say that.

You just said he didn’t say that and suggested that he should

But this was after he said it was a “cure” for schizophrenia and a “cure” for bipolar disorder.

You’ve intentionally misconstrued his words to frame your argument. It’s obvious these types of studies/research are a threat to the medical industry because they represent an alternative to pharmaceuticals.

I don’t know if you’re actually in the medical field or not, but if you are, answer this question.

Are you paid based on patient outcome or volume?

Sure Robbie sure. I would love to see RFK try to get my noncompliant schizophrenic and bipolar patients to stick to a keto diet.

ETA: Here is the actual study.

quote:

Preliminary clinical findings, including case reports and small trials, suggest that ketogenic therapy may improve positive and negative symptoms, cognitive performance, and metabolic outcomes in individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Preclinical studies using NMDA antagonist models demonstrate that ketogenic interventions can normalize behavioral and neurophysiological deficits. Mechanistically, ketone bodies enhance mitochondrial function, modulate neurotransmitter systems (GABA, glutamate, dopamine), and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. These effects may address core dysfunctions in schizophrenia that are unresponsive to dopamine-targeting pharmacotherapies.

Someone needs to inform Secretary Kennedy that improvement of symptoms while a good thing does not mean cure. Also keto diet was studied as an add on treatment for people already on antipsychotics.

Correct. They have a financial incentive to continue this revolving door of healthcare.

The goal is not to cure anything, but rather to constantly treat symptoms.

Let's see... he just released updated food guidelines, the new food pyramid is featured in this clip, and he's talking about a whole food diet and protein.

Yes, I'd say this was about fricking nutrition.

Right. It's Christopher Palmer (Harvard) who says he has cured schizophrenia with keto diet. Not RFK. These are not serious people.

No, you simpleton. RFK summarizes Palmer's work as saying he "cured schizophrenia." Does Palmer or his referenced study make this same claim? Think hard and maybe not just rely on chatgpt....

And this shouldn't even have to be said, but you cannot trust anyone who comes in here claiming to be a doctor to shoot you straight on this shite. These assholes get kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies. We all know it.

Ahh, the ol "all doctors get kickbacks from Big Pharm" boogeyman. I honestly feel bad for you guys.

Are you paid based on patient outcome or volume?

It’s a simple question.

This was known and suppressed in the 20’s. The study was on children, and saw remarkable success.

Umm, Sally. He said, and I quote, "... has cured schizophrenia using a keto diet."

A cure is literally the end all be all

he does NOT say to discontinue treatment, he does NOT advocate any medical changes to mental health patients.

Umm, Sally. After someone is cured, why would they need treatment and mediations?

Yep, and one reason he offered is completely unsupported by evidence. But I get why that wouldn't bother you...I guess...
