What is all this talk of a recession, someone needs to tell the US consumers and workers.

A recession is just a narrative being pushed by the media.

Ginned up crap by the media, after being given marching orders by the Dems, in hopes that they can make it happen and then tie it to Trump and get him out of office.

Most Americans don't know about numbers and percentages that are defined as a recession.

Most Americans judge how the economy is doing by the number of family, friends, and church members are out of work.

Nobody I know or go to church with is out of work.

If not for the media the average American would think the economy is strong.

The recession narrative is being pushed by dems and their cohorts in the media. They know it’s the only way trump can lose the 2020 election

If not for the media the average American would also think race relations are better than ever. The media is public enemy number one.

Democrat progressives, many of which reside on here, want the economy to crash out of their hatred for Trump, to hell with the actual pain in suffering their fellow citizens may experience.

Thank goodness we have the media to point out to us how wrong we are.

IF.... and that's a big IF... this is a manufactured "recession" it will not last long. Even Wallstreet wants to make money, their investing and spending can only oppose reality for so long.

As long as normal people are working and spending, Wallstreet's hand will bend to market forces in order to continue turning a profit.

Correct.

The 5 indicators of a recession are real GDP growth, retail spending, manufacturing, employment/unemployment, and wages/income. And each of these things must be down/negative for at least two straight quarters for us to meet the definition of being in a "recession".

And right now, not only are none of those even remotely close to going negative, but they are all doing spectacularly.

-Real GDP growth was +3.0% for 2018, and is +2.6% so far for 2019, with projections to finish somewhere between 2.7%-3.1% this year.

-Retail spending YOY was up 3.4% last year and is trending higher so far this year. June was up 0.3% and July 0.7%. Trending upwards.

-Manufacturing is up big and predicted to finish up at least 3.9% for 2019. And there are so many manufacturing jobs available that 89% of manufacturing producers have open jobs they can't find skilled enough people to fill. The PMI (Purchasing Managers Index), which measures the activity of manufacturing purchasing managers, is 50.4, and anything above 50.0 means "expansion". Again, trending upwards.

-Wages are up 4.0% over the last 12 months, which is +1.8% over inflation for the last 12 months. Inflation is trending DOWN while wages are trending UP.

-Labor Force Participate Rate has averaged 62.9% over the last 12 months and eclipsed 63.x% 5x while reaching 63.2% twice. It is currently at 63.0%, up from 62.8% the previous two months. It averaged 62.5% in 2018. And unemployment has stayed at 3.7% even with Labor Participation hitting these new highs, which means a de facto reduction in unemployment claims. So yet again, labor participation trending UP and unemployment claims trending DOWN.

I mean we are no where freaking close to anything even trending towards a recession, much less on the verge of, or actually AT the beginning of one.

The Left, and all the retard lackeys that we have on this site, are full of shite and lying to the idiot sheeple to willfully deceive them and fabricate a false sentiment.

Why? In the hopes of damaging Trump.

But it's not going to work, as you stated. All people have to do is look around and notice "reality". The Left will live in this delusion, while the Right and Independents will laugh at them as deceitful and dishonest bullshite like this just reinforces why they need to vote for Trump.

I never did get the left's obsession with Drudge. Matt Drudge hasn't been relevant in 20 years and his website hasn't changed since either. It's a shitty news aggregator.

But when he posts something they agree with they're all like "SeE MaTT dRuDgE SaYs OrAngE MaN bAd"

Nobody gives a shite what Matt Drudge thinks anymore.

It's abundantly clear what happened to him.

Money got tight because his brand got stale while the podcast news source industry boomed and stole his thunder.

So some Collectivist 1%'er swooped in an bought him and his narrative machine and turned him into an Establishment puppet.

Money corrupts absolutely.
