Santa Monica used to be in my top 3 favorite so cal beach towns. Spent a lot of time there. Terrible to hear what it has become.

I'm the very rare conservative that wants, and intends, to move back to California. Orange County, Newport Beach area or Laguna. Would also consider parts of coastal San Diego county.

I still love California. I just hate what lunatic Leftist policies have done to it. Laguna is one of our favorite places in the world. And we thought about retiring some place outside of Los Angeles, like wine country up in the Santa Ynez Valley. But real estate up there is way over priced, and some rural areas we liked such as Three Rivers near Sequoia National Park have severe air pollution problems year round due to agricultural pollution and the geography of the region. But I hear you. The pull of that beautiful state is strong.
