the most important thing is to move around. Don’t just sit on the couch or lay in bed. Go for a walk and exercise if you can tolerate it
I got tired a little faster than normal, but every time I went outside and walked around in the sun for a bit, I immediately felt better.
I was fully recovered about 5 days after diagnosis and only missed half a day of work to get tested.

4. A patient is already maxed on BiPAP with SpO2's in the 70's and is on the cusp of 2° multisystem damage and death as a result. Put more simply, vents are employed for CV19 when odds of survival w/o them approach zero.
UC Health seems to disagree and says anything south of an SpO2 of 85% is put on a ventilator.

The Pan American Health Organization technically says LESS than 90% if “not improving”

So yea…back to my main points. It’s one of the three I posted and you kinda just agreed with me that the current approach being recommended is incorrect.

I really believe walking as much as possible is one of the best remedies for Covid and its free.

You want to parse the difference between <85% are usually intubated/ventilated vs SpO2's in the 70's are intubated/ventilated?
Do you have a clue as to the clinical difference? or did you just google something to try and argue.
Regarding your link to practice in Latin America, I have no idea what their standards are. I'd be stunned if they even had the resources to ventilate all critical pts, much less those at SpO2s of ~90%. But you found a source that says otherwise. So, who knows?

Cautionary tale here of 2 family members.
My mother in law just finished a long hospital then rehab stay (8 weeks). They wanted to intubate her about 5 days in. She refused, knowing the odds. They kept her on oxygen and kept asking if she wanted to fight or be comfortable. She chose to fight. Doctors were telling us she was going to die, no doubt. Had they intubated her, she would have. But she fought and slowly, her oxygen levels improved and they weaned her off high flow oxygen. 5 weeks later she left the hospital, spent 2 weeks in rehab and is now at home. Still on oxygen, but didn’t submit to the doctors who gave up on her.
My cousins dad was in around the same time. He was intubated after 3-4 days. He died a week later.
The vents absolutely kill people. I don’t need a bunch of pulled out of your arse stats. My first hand experience tells me what I need to know.

quote:"Overheard him"??? He blogs about it online and organized an anti-vaxx rally last month. He is also trying to openly organize the workers in his hospital against getting vaccinated.
He suspects it’s simply that doctors overheard him talking about myocarditis and Ivermectin, and so he had to go.

Been saying this. Glad some are speaking out but these people in the hospitals are no different than the Nazis who just followed orders to murder fellow citizens.

We need more people like you telling these stories. Hope your mother in law is improving.

You're good with people being fired for exercising their constitutional rights?

I do not support people being fired for refusing the vaccine.

My oximeter instructions say to go to ER for anything less than 95%. Mine sometimes reaches 96, usually 94 or 95.
I asked my fam doc last week if the hospital would put me on a vent if I wanted it or not? He said no. I asked what if I was unconscious? He said I would have to fill out a do not resuscitate form, in advance, and then they wouldn't.
I'd rather die at home then give the hospital a chance to kill me for the 50K biden will give them.

Then you asked the wrong question.
Next time you see him, ask if the hospital would let your family transport you home if you were unconscious 2° to hypoxia. Meanwhile, consider updating your living will and advance directives.

As an RT myself I approve this message. Going on the vent is a last resort, do everything you can to stay off. Once you go on the chances of survival are greatly decreased.
